Too big of a question mark to risk two potentially valuable assets.

Cut the 2nd

That's not going to happen. Carolina reportedly offered a 2nd + prospect last fall, the deal didn't happen because the two sides couldn't agree on the prospect. Puljujarvi's value has only risen since then.

Maybe? Colorado did it for Bura and he was older....he also showed he could be a good player.... depends on how much they believe in him

They would not as Puljujärvi has little value. Sure at one point carolina almost did give up a 2nd for him back in September but there GM wised up and realized it could have been a costly mistake. And okay he is doing well in Liga but he played 3 seasons in Edmonton and has not impressed and being good in Liga sometimes does not translate well in an NHL return. On top of that he has requested to be moved making managers of other teams have more leverage in negotiations. I would say a 3rd and a low prospect or wing would probs be Edmonton's best shot. No team will give a 2nd for a guy who could come back and continue to struggle in the NHL.

why would it go up? jw? he hasn't proven hes able to played in the NHL unless they feel hes matured in the other league

that and other teams would have to feel he can play well especially in a top 6 role. If he comes back and fails again that teams who traded for him will have felt cheated. I would say a 3rd would be Edmontons best hope

Heck if I was Dubas I would try (JP for Johnsson and a 3rd and Toronto is taking all the risks here)

That Ottawa 2nd alone is more valuable than Puljujarvi.

Fair value for Ottawa would be a prospect like Abramov or Balcers and a 3rd or maybe one of the late 2nds

I could see the Sens trading one of the other 2nd round picks they have for Pulujarvi but probably not their own 2nd.

He had only just started the season at that time, he's played a full season now. There were concerns about his skating - his 2018-19 campaign ended early when he underwent hip surgery - which would have been eased with positive viewings through the Liiga season. He led his team to the best regular season record, was one of the top-5 scorers in the league and led the league in possession. These things have raised his value from what it was last fall.

That makes sense and I completely understand why you said what you did. Only thing is that he still hasn’t proven he’s a good NHL player. His stats rival a poor 3rd liner or a solid 4th liner. Imo how muchbGMs value other leagues.

That's not unreasonable. I'm not sure Holland would accept that though, I get the impression he thinks someone will make a better offer. Maybe he's right - we'll see.

If someone offers more than that, there's no way Ottawa would be willing to put a competitive counter offer.
