With no CBO the Isles would have to consider that trade. Although I think they would like to move Komarov more than Clutter.

If the Isles add a 1st, we consider it. It took a 1st to get rid of one year of Marleau so Wilde isn't enough for 2 years of Boychuk and Clutterbuck.

PIT wants Gallagher too. He would complete our top-6.

How about Gallagher and Mete
for
Poulin(best prospect), 1st round pick, 2nd round pick
?

I think Poulin/1st for Gallagher is fair if Gallagher signs an extension with PIT.
Mete is a 3rd LHD--I think a 2nd is fair. Simon has more value to us than as a throw-in. Someone like Erod would be PIT's choice for a throw in, I think. But then PIT would ask a late pick coming back because MTL has tons of picks and we barely have any. Maybe a 4th?

Poulin/1st/2nd/Erod
Gallagher/Mete/4th
I think that's pretty fair...

Poulin shredded the Q this year. His stats are sick.

Maybe conditions are worked in? extra picks based on performance of Gallagher/Erod and picks are top-10 protected or something...

If we are rebuilding, why would we trade Mete, Lehkonen or Armia? Those are guys young enough to still be in their prime when we are ready to compete.

And at worst they're stopgap in order to not rush the others prospects in the NHL.

Also good to have different groups of guys in the room. Lehkonen/Armia would be good guys to have if we drafted another finnish guy. It's always good to make the rookies comfortable.
