If this happened Bonino would be your 3C.
Where's Tolvanen?

Could definitely see that. Assumption is that Bonino is the center on PK1 and his usage in Nashville lines up similarly to the deployment tendencies of the Girgensons-Larsson-Okposo line > http://www.hockeyabstract.com/playerusagecharts

Tolvanen is playing top line minutes in the A in this scenario.

I see.

I'm not a fancy stat guy so that link is meaningless to me.. Lol.. I looked at it and I try but I don't get it, just a bunch of numbers and graphs that I can't see what value it really holds and is difficult to understand, I gotta say the fancy sites really don't do a good job of making their sites for the layman but with their smug attitudes I'm sure they don't care about the layman fan... 😃

So if the Girgensons-Larsson-Okposo line was effective AND this trade actually did happen why not sign Girgensons cause let's face it he isn't going to be an expensive signing and then slot Bonino at 3C?

That could be easily accomplished by not signing Hainsey which would free up some dollars for Girgs, could then sign a cheaper 3LHD like Merrill.
Still see the biggest issue here is assuming Cozens will be ready for the 2C job, really can't afford to **** up his development and rush him if he isn't ready.

I definitely get lost in “fancy stat” equations but for the player usage chart link:
- Left to right is the frequency a player lines up in the Dzone (left) vs Ozone (right)
- Top to bottom is quality of competition players play against
- Circle size represents time on ice
- Circle color represents good (blue) vs bad (brown) possession metrics

The Hainsey signing is debatable, but a big reason why he and Bonino are acquired is for their veteran presence and playoff experience. Both were on the Pens 2016-17 Cup winning team when Botterill was still their AGM. More often than not the teams I make on here revolve around personnel people acquiring players they had at previous stops (like Dubas acquiring Clifford and Campbell).
