some rakell proposals

Created by: Wqrrior
Team: 2020-21 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: May 24, 2020
Published: May 24, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Rakell has not lived up to his full potential and seems best suited as a 2nd liner averaging about 50 points. What boosts his value is mostly his contract as he himself belongs to a fairly obtainable playertype. The ducks should part with him now, while he has two years on this contract to get the most value out of him. Once he demands a pay raise, his value will drop significantly.

I think the Islanders do that, they get a better player for cheaper

I'm waiting for Ducks fans to say that I'm short selling. But Rakell is more in name than he is of skill. He's only broken 50 points twice and holds one very good year. Otherwise he is for the most part someone people think performs better than he actually does.

I will take criticism on how to balance any of these trades if they really do need it though,

I think there is too much coming back in the Florida trade.

He just needs his shooting % to get back above 10-11%. He was still the ducks most dangerous player this season. He just lacked shooting %. The argument there is were those two 30 goals season aberrations because of an elevated shooting % or can he get back to that shooting %.

don't think they would trade before they know ducks are out of playoffs(20-21). at that time rakell value possiby at his best.

Imo PIT trade is underwhelming. Bjugstad has no value whatsoever, low 2nd in a weak draft isn't that enticing and Hållander...well he's good but not something that ANA needs.

The only trades here the. Ducks think about for more than 5 seconds is the FLA and COL trade the rest are brutal, Bailey and Wilde don’t get just Rakell let alone him and Mahura. PIT trade is things the Ducks don’t need and doesn’t make sense. Do I for Rakell doesn’t make sense for the Ducks either

Bailey's stats are practically identical to Rakell's and you get him for longer. Wilde is practically exactly the prospect you need. I actually thought that was the higher end of value in these offers. I understand the team might want to get younger, however this trade makes them better. Bailey is on par with Rakell in most every category other than age and contract. I'd change Mahura to Larsson though.

He doesn’t fit with the Ducks compete window the only reason to move Rakell would be to get younger

Yeah Wilde would be good but Rakell get more than Wilde and Bailey isn’t the more the ducks would want or need. Even with Larsson over Mahura the ducks don’t do that trade Bailey isn’t a player the ducks would be adding in a Rakell trade, they’d be better off keeping him if that’s all they get back

Avs say yes. You could probably get a 1st instead of a 2nd with Timmins. Though I would only trade Timmins if we had another solution at RHD (eg. Pietrangelo).

Florida wouldn't give up Weegar and a 1st. Weegar is their 1 LHD this season paired with Ekblad (on his off -side)
