I'm not filling out the rest of the roster, just proposing this trade out of academic interest (I really don't know enough about either team).

Would Montreal be interested in trading quantity for (hoped-for) quality? Would the Rangers prefer to have 5 picks in the first three rounds, given the depth of this year's draft pool?

MTL takes this deal. It's a deep draft but MTL doesn't need depth, they need elite and the chances for that are higher in that range.

By the way, for what it's worth, the latest edition of draft pick values has the 39th and 40th picks (my original trade box is in error) equivalent to the 19th overall pick.

It’s all come to the players available at that moment. If Montreal feel like their guy’s is there then they can move up. If they have a couple of guy under the radar like Romanov the last time then they possibly keep their pick and select later.

Not quite worth it kinda deal. No thanks, NYR kinda scenario. We are in the red for 2yrs then a black hole in 23. Hopefully one or both of our 1sts to jump in with their elcs by then lol 🙏
