As much as I'd love Boeser, the Wild need centers. Rask is an AHL player and he's our 1C here for crying out loud. If we move Brodin (or Dumba) it has to be for a top 6 center.

Also, where is Kaprizov?

Yeah this is a pretty one-sided trade for Minnesota.

I'm not sure if you all realize how good Brodin is. He was our best defenseman last year, which is saying a lot considering our blue line. Since you probably won't believe me as a Wild fan, here's a quote from one of The Athletic's national coverage writers, Dom Luszczyszyn, regarding Brodin (quote is from an article just before the trade deadline):

"If I’m a team right now I’m probably going hard after a guy like Jonas Brodin who is for my money probably one of the best defensive defensemen on the planet. He will be hard to pry out if Minnesota, but he’s worth the price, especially since he comes with term on a reasonably cheap deal – he has one more season with a $4.17 million cap hit. No one else available will provide the impact Brodin does."

That deal doesn't even include an extension. He may be good, but Boeser is an elite winger and Demko has starter potential

Boeser is great, but can he stay healthy? That's the big catch with him. Plus it helps a lot when he has a playmaker like Petterson feeding the puck, the Wild don't have a center like that. Not saying Petterson is the reason Boeser is great, but my point is he wouldn't have that type of center in MN.

Boeser had 55 pts in 62 games before Pettersson even played in the NHL. I agree that so far he can't stay healthy but it's only three seasons. You guys should move Brodin for a centre and he won't fetch a Boeser-caliber player unless there's an extension.

cap issues, extension depend on fit. Duby has shown he's capable and with retension a nice backup for the run. 2nd pick eases the pain.

I mean he still had Horvat, we don't have a player like that either lol.

But yeah, we need a center for Brodin (as I said in my initial comment)
