I like Ekblad, but if the NYI 1st can't get it done, I'm not trading the other two 1sts.

For no reason? How about having Ekblad and Chabot as your top d pairing for the next ten years

You could just draft Drysdale. He might not be as good as Ekblad is, but it's still a more viable option

Nope but I’d switch the SJ 1st to the Isles 1st and upgrade 1 prospect. They can have Colin White or Logan Brown

Ottawa would be far better off, signing UFAs for 7.5m and keeping the 5th overpack. And will so many team near the cap, teams are going to "giving away" solid NHLers with cap, that Ottawa could use for a year or two.

Lassi Thomson is pretty good and 4 or 5 years of that 10 will be growing pains anyway. Just seems like youre giving up to much

Ottawa has a billion picks in the next two drafts and are loaded with prospects. Surrounding that young talent with cap dumps and expensive UFA’s past their prime is a recipe for a ten year rebuild. Just look at Buffalo and Edmonton.

Is this a lot to give up for ekblad? Sure. But that’s what a 23-year old number one defensemen with perennial Norris potential costs and Ottawa can afford to pay that price.

Wild aren't giving up a 4th for a aging 4th line wing.
