That really doesn’t come close to landing Cirelli. You probably have to include Mittlestadt, Asplund this years 1st and maybe even a cap dumb like Gourde, or Johnson. Who wouldn’t even waive to come play for the Sabres.

Was thinking it wouldn't be enough and forgot about Mitts tbh. I'd give a bit more too

Not nearly enough for Cirelli. I feel like value might be close to even in the Montreal trade but Montreal could get pieces better suited to their needs elsewhere. You no longer have cap space to extend your top defensive pair next year. Good luck

For the situation Tampa is in I don't think your offer for Cirelli is very far off. A young guy with one season as a 2C for a top 10 pick is fair.
A 2nd and 3rd for Hutton and Ristolainen? I figured a first would be needed for Risto. I'm a Detroit fan and usually Sabres fans want Mantha back for him (which I wouldn't do), but a 2nd and 3rd for him and Hutton I would do.

I would definitely redo the cirelli trade not my best admittedly. As far as money Johansson comes off and a good GM should be able to move a few of those bigger contracts sans Skinner and okposo for picks and elc's.

Or you know... don’t spend 15 million on your third line

Or you know trade any one of those 3 when you need to? Teams do stuff like that all the time. Dahlin isn't getting 10 mill without a crazy year it's not like I need 15 mill to sign those 2 at this moment. The Sabres suck mate idk what you're thinking but we need all the talent we can get before our superstar center wants out.

Trading guys you just signed/traded for is a bad look. I like the idea of you guys going for Cirelli. Maybe that 2020 pick is low enough Tampa considers it. Maybe add Risto with salary retained to the pick. Keep Sam. Move Montour for a stud 3C (I’d be good with a Faksa for Montour swap, but I like Montour more than some). You can do better than Maroon and Larsson. Don’t need Gudas. Especially not on his off side. Cirelli and Faksa would be a very good start imo

I'm in a conundrum with Sam because he's going to want a bunch on money. We just shelled out 9 mill to Skinner which is another story entirely. What's to keep sam from asking at least 7? He's good not great and always plays with eichel otherwise I suspect he'd just be slightly above average. I fear his value now is the highest it may ever be. Most sabres fans would disagree with me on this though.
