I really like this. As you said, three scoring lines with plenty of variety spread out amongst said lines. 4th line is pure grinding. I will say that the defense already looks better to me know that there’s puck movers and skaters being installed. Defense is the one thing I’m actually excited about with this team right now.

Can you guys stop putting Cat - Strome and Kane together...it's a horrible line and my fellow Hawks fans should know that if they watched close enough.

Otherwise, I like the moves but wouldn't you play Holtz and Nylander on their natural sides switching them?

I would for sure buyout Smith and move Highmore onto the 4th line, he earned his spot and is a better player then Smith who skates in syrup.

Also forgot Caggs, if you aren't signing him you can trade his rights as he has some value albeit probably a 4th pick, but I would sign him, throw him on the 4th line with Kampf and Highmore...now you have a fast checking line versus 2 old dogs in Smith and Carpenter who are both slow. Carps can rotate in at times but he's not a game in and game out guy IMO.

As for the D, definitely worth trying or moving Murphy with Keith and sliding down BoQ and Mitchy and if so they swapping Carlsson for Beaudin.

I'd make a trade for Kap...at least try to, Nylander, Koekko 3rd for Kap. Then play Cat - Strome - Kap...that line would be great as Kap plays a pretty good two way game like a mini Saad.

I think the Hawks should draft Askarov.

No thanks; goalies take the longest to develop (minimum 4 years) and are the riskiest

I like Holtz a lot, but I don’t see him being there at 9. Perhaps you could trade up with a team targeting the goalie? I don’t know he is a feasible option at 9.

At #9 Lundell is the most likely pick, unless another team (New Jersey) decides to take a chance on Askarov. Then maybe Perfetti drops to #9.
