It's a bargain if he performs like he did this season. He had more points than Pietrangelo and all but 3 other D men (Carlson, Josi, Hedman). If he performs like that another season his contract probably goes up closer to 10M.

Wallmark may come that cheap on a 1 year bridge. He didn't play very well in Florida so that brought his value down.

Detroit isn't taking Smith back. Why is he making $4.3M? He was overpaid at $2.7M!

His shooting was also abnormally high and he had a ton of Ozone starts. His defense is also lacking. I'd give him like a 6.5 x 6 yr contract.

Sometimes the best contracts are the ones you don't sign. Fox and Trouba are your top 4 RHD's. I would trade DeAngelo high to a team that needs a RHD like Winnipeg or Anaheim. Strome can probably sign for less term and aav.
