By 2021 Peeke and Jones will be the top 4 one the right side for Columbus. Not sure we really need Johnson.... I mean the last Johnson we had didn’t workout so well. Plus he has a NMC, so we’d have to protect him from the expansion draft and as he wouldn’t be one of the 3 we’d want to protect we’d have to give up other assets to keep other players we’d rather have.

Maybe the trade can happen after the expansion draft, but that also means Colorado has to protect Johnson.

with you moving EJ bc you want Barrie back, talk about flawed logic. You mention Barrie is a well liked guy in the locker room...you are really underestimating EJ and how respected as a leader he is in that locker room,

want to talk about hurting your locker room culture...this is how you start by moving the voice of the D core for no good reason

Relax, I know this isn't happening. I just wanted to see how it would look. Johnson will likely be in Colorado until his contract expires.

Its fair rebuttal points, and you were advocating for it with response comments, which was one of your justifications of Barrie being good friends with Mack.

My point about Barrie being good friends with Mack was to explain the logic of why he'd want to come back, and why he would be a seamless fit compared to other free agents who aren't friends with the lockerroom already.

Kadri will likely walk in UFA as he'll be replaced by Newhook by then. Byram's ELC will slide so he'll only be up in 2023.

In 2023 we'd simply need to decide on which Dmen to keep, and that could entail trading Barrie again, or moving someone else, who knows how things will play out.

Love Tyson. But if he isn’t qb PP1 he isn’t worth bringing in into any team and you recognized that by putting him on PP1. But as productive as Barrie has been Makar is putting up stupid crazy numbers for a rookie and he’s only going to get better.

I could see a situation where the Avs try and bring Kadri back as the 3C, a lot depends on Bowers and Newhook.
