For those who you that think a NTC means anything you’re wrong. If a player gets asked to waive it they will, they’re not going to stay on a team that wants to trade them. They will work it out and give a team list to get trades to and waive it.

There are lots of examples of this not being correct. You have a good team that players want to come play for. The downside of that is they arnt going to be willing to leave so easily.

Read any article on waiving NTC Callahan Did it etc... they’re going to do it. They modify they’re NTC to submit a team list

1. I guess you are too young to remember the Muskoka 5?

2. It's not just about a player waiving their NTC, it's about them having a say where they want to go. The more restrictions a team has in moving a player the harder it becomes to move that player. No guarantee teams on the "OK" list have interest or capspace to acquire that player.

3. This is real life for the players, if Tampa is where they want to live the rest of their life, they're family is rooted there, etc. it's no automatic they are willing to waive/help the team move them.

4. I'm thinking you'd be surprised by the amount of trades that get vetoed by a player.

You must be too old to see that hockey is an entirely different game now. Facts are if they ask them to waive it they will. Don’t analyze everything in your lift so much

Kind of funny you use the word facts, when there is actual proof to show your wrong. If players didn't want some say on their future they wouldn't bother with trade/movement clauses.

A lot of these players took discounts to play in TBL because of the tax benefits.... They signed a long term contract for security and be able to settle down with family. Its not their fault TBL cap was miss managed. They negotiated those clauses for a reason. A player may waive on the last year of a long term contract to go after the cup but not a year or two after signing.

Teams know what kind of situation you guys are in, especially the eastern teams here, they're not going to help you out by taking your overpaid players

Aside from the fact that you're wrong regarding the NTCs, those trades are absolutely terrible for TB.

I really doubt anyone is going to help Tampa unless they're getting a bargain. The return will be good but it'll be way below market value because Tampa is making a trade to keep their core together, not to better their team. They're in a vulnerable position imo. This off-season is going to be interesting.

You really think Johnson is going to waive his NTC so he can uproot his family and move to...... Calgary? Not to mention that tax difference on top of the escrow next season. I don't see it.

I'm not really sure you are fully aware what the difference is between facts and opinions.

I guess as long as you believe something it must be true, so you do you.
