Well, I'm happy -- especially if Trevor Zegras or Isac Lundestrom is ready to play (Lundestrom's audition at the beginning of this season was between his fellow Swedes).

I thought adding a RD would be great to Ducks.

The poster's question is what the Ducks would have to add to make the Rangers happy.

rangers dont want henrique who is 30 for a 5 more years at 5.875 million. Strome works better with panarin and is more safe to have than henrique. While i want to get rid of strome it would likely be for a younger center of draft pick.

also him at 4.5 million would work if he was a 3rd line center when we are contenders but not right now

Just skip the NYR part of the deal. I'm not a Strome fan and think he was carried by his linemates this year.

Really if you just get Cirelli for the OS no other moves need to be made. I'd be just fine with the top-9 center being Staal, Cirelli, and JEE (number them however you want).

I'm exploring adding Strome and Cirelli as I pitched that @TanSor and @MNBassman.

What if the retention was higher on Henrique?
What if Staal was going to Ramgers instead?

Rangers are pretty cap strapped with a few RFAs to sign.

Are there any assets on Ducks that on the bubble on?

Why are you trying to add both of them? Strome had 2 good years separated by 5 years of being a 3rd liner. Now you trade Dumba+ for him?

Jacob Larsson is our best trade asset, and I think he fits the Rangers' needs (especially cap-wise) very well.

NYR may be in tough trying to sign RFAs if they don't shed some salary. That probably includes making a move they don't necessarily want to.

I think Dumba has more value then people on cf are showing in trades.

it really doesn't matter it just isn't a fit. If they need sign RFA's why not just trade strome for picks/prospects and save the 3 mil.

Don't really like the idea of moving Dumba for Strome in general. I do like him, but I just don't like the cost it would take to get him.

I just don't see the need to trade Dumba for a 3C. Keep Dumba and the team will have it's d-corps depth (Spurgeon is bound to get injured at some point next season).

Cirelli and JEE are the top-6 of the future, and Staal is still here for next season. Add in Strum from the AHL and there are the 4 centers for next year. Rask is in the pressbox if there is an injury, and you could still re-sign Chucky if there was concern about Strum.

What would you think of keeping Dumba and instead have to move Boldy and Staal?

Staal probably has NYR and Anaheim (and all Cali teams) on his NTC. He wants to be as close to T Bay as possible and I'm sure he doesn't want to go back to the Rangers. Boldy should be as good if not better than Strome.

I'm wondering if something like Brodin with an extension for Strome+ would work. I just don't know what the + would be. Of course I'd only do it with Cirelli, but I've been trying to come up with something like that

What about this?

New York Rangers
Brodin extended
Greenway or Donato (Rangers choice)

Minnesota Wild
Strome
NYR 2021 first (top 10 protected)

I dont think Rangers have cap fpr Brodin.
And I think they have enough their own Donato's.

To make the Rangers happy, take two picks (any of the Rangers' four thirds) for Greenway; Wild take one and Ducks take one as well.

Lodnia can remain with the Wild, and the Rangers can send the Ducks one of either Hajek or Rykov.
