I think Labanc has a lot more upside than Fast, but I also think Fast would be a sound substitute in the event Banker gets traded.

Another build in a similar style to my other recent ones, but this time Banker gets traded.
I think you all know by now my feelings about Banker and Burns, but if there's talk by Kevin Kurz there's likely talk among Sharks management. They may not move either of em, but at this point anything is possible so I'm preparing myself to be upset.

Bailey's still good but old news in NY and Mayfield's a redundant piece. NYI cap crunch leverage aside, those two will be very appreciated in SJ, while the Isles get wiggle room to negotiate with Barzal and Co. They get $6.5M cap relief in one shot and two future 2nds. I say not a bad deal for either party.

Idk man. Bailey is still a key producer on that team and Mayfield carries a ton of value. Tbh SJS should just blow it up and do a proper rebuild. They won't be able to get back to contention any time soon with Vegas, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary all having bright futures, not to mention Arizona who could be a total dark horse next few years.

Get Clarke next year. Get one of Savoie/Wright/Lambert year after. Then start to buy.

Me too! I expect big things from DW this off-season. I think the SJS ownership does too.

Bailey definitely is still valuable, which is why he's considered trade bait. SJ could use someone like him or Killorn, and I'm sure either guy would be happy to end up on the Sharks.

There isn't going to be a blow up and there shouldn't be. I get that fans of other teams think there should be, perhaps because they've seen their own teams do it, but it's just not going to happen over here. One bad year does not make for a trend. I won't begrudge you to know or understand the politics or culture of the SJ Sharks, but would ask you to sit back and watch.

Don't like the Rangers trade

A forward with that much value should not be traded for a goaltender

I'm totally with you, just trying it out since it's a reported possibility. I'm very much in the camp of keeping Labanc, his upside to too great. I'm also in the camp of not believing the Georgiev hype. I think the kid is good, but not the best available! Griess would be a better get; keep Labanc, sign Toffoli, and if we must trade Burnzie it better be for a high return.

Thats crazy but would you rather Aatu Raty or Brandt Clarke? Or maybe go off the board a bit with Kent Johnson or Owen Power?

Are those next year's top prospects? I haven't studied the roster past this year.
In any case, if we suck again, we'll be in the lottery; if we don't, we'll be in the Playoffs.
Things have a way of working out for the Sharks.

Very similar to your past couple you’ve done. I think personally no 3rd picks for the isles deal. All deal are within the realm possibility.

Ya, I'm operating within a current canon until new inspiration strikes. I add the 3rds to the Isles deal to reflect the leverage we'd likely have over them to close the deal. Offer Sheets for Barzal, Pulock and Toews are probably going to severely throw them off balance. I say say we help them regain balance for a small tax.

If not the NYI, then I say we deal with Tampa for Killorn or Johnson. IMO, Killorn would be the best fit for us if we keep Burns, as his style of play is very similar to Pavs'. I've been saying for a while, with Killorn's net-front discipline and redirection skills, being on a team with both Burns and Karlsson will easily turn him into a 30+ goal scorer.

Ya, after this experiment I'm now certain I don't want to lose Banker, but I'm willing to pay the 2nd for Georgiev, as long as that's all.

My only issue with picking up Georgie is that now the two best goalies in our system are stuck in the minors for at min the next 4 years

Maybe not. If Jones has a turnaround then he'll be elite once again. If he doesn't then we can expose him during the expansion or buy him out, and the buyout will be for 6 years not 8. Or.... he rekindles his trade value and we trade him to make room for Melnichuk.

Ok let’s say Jones snaps back, he’s still 31 and not part of our future, Georgie still blocks melnichuyk And Kofar and i honestly think both are better than Georgie who I think at best is a 1B goalie not a starter.
