Description

Can anyone help me understand how great teams like the leafs, oilers, pens and others could get 1st overall over horrible teams like the red wings, sens and kings? I get that the losers from the plat ins, as well as the other 7 teams all have a shot at it but I don't get how a team like the red wings or sens arent guaranteed or close to guaranteed 1st overall.

because if the penguins who are at 86 points somehow don't make the playoffs due to this ridiculously stupid play in format, they will have been robbed of a spot that should have been theirs.

It's the same odds for the Redwings/Sens as past years. The bottom 7 teams are the least affected by this.

Yes because I was really rooting for the Leafs to lose the last 14 games of the regular season just to get into the Lottery Draft.

It is stupid and unfair, but I'm sure it's not a balance Lottery, the percentage points will still favor Wings, Sens, Sharks, Ducks, Kings.

The worst teams have the same odds and chances as the past few years no difference everybody who misses the playoffs has a shot also no difference

That’s only if they get beat in the qualifying round. If they make it past it they can’t get the first overall.
