He still needs at least 1/2 a season in the minors. Rarely do players straight out of college make it to the NHL. Though Larkin did with Datsyuks injury and played quite well with Zetterberg.

What are you talking about, he will make the jump right way after is 2020-21 NCAA season. There no need to spend time in the minors. He will already have 2 season of college hockey and will be ready and have a impact as a players right away. It not like he will be a 18 years old kid in 2021-22 season.
Boeser, Eichel, Fox, Makar, Hugues, Hayes, Connor, Hanifin, Werenski, Brady Tkachuk, Clayton Keller, Tyson Jost, McCavoy, Trouba, is that enough first round players that have played 1 or 2 years in Ncaa and make the jump right away

Completely agree. I am no expert (none of us are) but in my opinion there's no way he plays in the minors. This kid looks like the real deal. Needs to get stronger, but he'll do that this year. smile

Yeap i agree! With another year in the NCAA he won’t need that extra year in the minors. If he had made the jump this year maybe he would but that extra season will gave him time to get bigger en stronger in the gym since the schedule is more clement in NCAA.

Exactly. And who knows: He may not have needed time if he came up for 20-21. He's succeeded at every level so far. He's playing against players much older than he is, and he was the Big10 freshman of the year. He's not going to be McDavid, but I think the hype is pretty legit on this kid. He'll be a 30 goal scorer in the NHL with potential for far more if his linemates keep up.
