So the Avs ideally could use a (as in single) top 6 wing. Drouin isn’t that guy. Cirelli is unnecessary because they have Kadri and Newhook coming. And a salary cap increase is highly unlikely

That doesnt get you Drouin. He had a down year because of injury but MTL still believes he will be a 60 point guy

But why? Makar and Landeskog are going to need raises in a year. You would significantly alter your cap for a few win now moves when you could just be patient. Colorado is loaded in prospects and most of their young NHLers are just getting into their prime. No need to complicate things for a one year run. You've got the assets and future rookie contracts to be patient. No need to be aggressive.

why sign a guy 7 million when he scored 44 points when you have a guy who Cost Less and scored the same amount of points in less games
