I mean Ekholm is good, but he's also 30. Would prefer a younger guy.

I mean if we trade Domi, we could still work with our offense.

Well no they are actually looking to move Domi. He wants to play C, and has been good at C but with the incredible success of the Tatar-Danault-Gally lines, KK up and coming, and Suzuki's breakout season he isn't as important anymore. Even if he plays LW that displaces Drouin who is finally starting to play well. Of course a younger player is more ideal but I'm sure MTL takes this

I'd love Ekholm and the deal is fair value wise but the Habs are a young up and coming team. They need young and up and coming players. Ekholm would be in the latter part of his career by the time the Habs would be starting to knock on the door of the playoffs.

Nice idea but its not the right fit for the Habs.

This doesn’t make sense for either team. Ekholm is too old for the habs, and doesn’t play in a position of need and the Preds have enough centres before trading for Domi.
