Toronto Blockbuster

Team: 2020-21 Dallas Stars
Initial Creation Date: May 23, 2020
Published: May 27, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
**DISCLAIMER**

This is my first attempt at an AGM that doesn’t involve NJ. I’m not sure if any of this is plausible, or what these fan bases would like to see.

Value could be way off on the Toronto trade, and the trade for Cogliano could be with any team just to move his contract.

I’m open to any and all criticism to get a better idea of what people feel is fair value. I’m sure I could be way off here.

I'm a DAL fan, but TOR will never accept this.

Cogliano's trade value is nonexistent. No one is taking that contract, unfortunately.

It's tough. It entirely dependant on if Radulov is just having a down year or if he's washed

I don't like as a Leaf. Leafs would only trade Marner to get cap space to fill multiple holes. Marner is a UFA in five years. Klingberg 2 years and Radulov 2 years. Radulov will be 34 when the season starts and may be hitting the wall. So I don't think the trade is good one ice value for the Leafs. I'm a supporter of Liljegren and believe he will be long time NHLer.

thats the main issue. Leafs could end up losing their best RW for a guy who is falling off the rails and could produce under his contract value. Sure if Radulov returns to 70 points then it could work out but on the other hand if he performs like he did this year Dubas head will be on the line.

In general I feel a team like NJ would be the best marner trade partner as they got cap space and the return could be massive.

Honestly someone suggested a trade to NJ and if I was Dubas I would do it. I even replicated the trade on toronto's side and not only would they have cap space, but picks and depth for days.

Yep, something like you suggest would be best Marner move for the Leafs. Marner and two marginal RHD cost the Leafs about 14m cap. Severson, DeMelo and RW Toffoli would cost about 14m, plus the Leafs could get futures from New Jersey.

Anything with Marner or Liljegren going to Dallas needs to have Robertson coming back.

probably take out radulov and add seguin, or take out klingberg and add heiskenin

Marner = Seguin/Heiskenin

No. Heiskanen's untouchable.

Think it's not about adding. DAL just don't really have the pieces to get Marner. Or to be more precise, the pieces that might get him are something DAL is not willing to part with.

Imo Klingberg+Robertson+Honka for Nylander+Liljegren+Malgin would be the highest potential blockbuster these teams could make.

why why why would Dallas do this. Radulov better aligns with the teams identity and Klingberg is the real deal. No need to shoot yourself in the foot with taking a bad contract and losing ur top dman

that's my point.... Marner is likely a future franchise player for TOR as is Heiskenin..... if you want to propose a trade for a franchise player you have to give one up.

Good that I don't want to propose a trade as such.
