Pietrangelo fits

Created by: Trickster
Team: 2020-21 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: May 27, 2020
Published: May 27, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming no CBOs and cap will remain 81.5 million for next 3 seasons.

Yes the trade is a cap dump and I'm open to changing the trade.
Buffalo makes sense as potential landing spots for Perreault seeing that his NTC list is only 5 teams and there is a chance he would be at least middle 6 FW there, meaning opportunities to perform.

Without trading Little away, adding a 2nd line C is not gonna happen.

Well its a great contract considering he's probably wanting $10M+ and he's one of the best dmen in the league that would no doubt massively improve the Jets but he's not transplanting his family from Missouri to Manitoba.

Also if this did somehow happen is there enough cap space to sign Laine and Pionk the following summer, those are very important RFA'S that need to be signed long term.

Can I ask your opinon on what is,Roslovic's value?
And how desirable is it have Wheeler at wing VS #2 C?

I know I am not @MisstheWhalers but I thought I would chime in on this one. I am still a strong believer in Roslovic and he is coming off his best season where he was actually a pretty good player for us. I think he has 2C upside still but it's how long until then is the question. With the plenty of cap that we have right now, I would no doubt make an upgrade if it was clear cut, like Cirelli. Wheeler is definitely a better winger at this stage of his career. He wasn't horrible at center, but he isn't an ideal fit for 2C at all in my opinion.

Thanks for giving your view.
I thought Wheeler played amazing for Jets at C, I'd prefer him be tried there for this upcoming season but beyond that, need a new C.

Roslovic looks like a winger to me.
Thoughts on Kerfoot for him swap? And put Wheeler back to wing?

It wouldn't be horrible, but it kind of seems like a lateral move for both teams.

Thanks for not blasting me, I think its lateral move too but if Jets strike out on C add but manage to add RD, adding a guy Kerfoot makes some sense overall.

I was really interested in Kerfoot this past offseason as a potential player #2C for us, this year he was ok at best but I think their is something their still. I just think Roslovic has gotten a little better every year, and he played really well at C when it was a line of him Harkins and Appleton

Roslovic's trade value? Idk I wouldn't think much but I don't think it's worth dealing him yet as his potential outweighs what I think his return would be and if he doesn't turn out to be anything more then he is now so be it, doubt his trade return would be anything that would turn out to be more then Roslovic is, as for Kerfoot I doubt the Leafs do that trade, he'd be an improvement on the Jets current 3C's but I'm not sure if he's really a 2C though I think Ehlers and Laine have matured enough that they could make some 3C's look like 2C's, what's Kerfoot's defensive game like?

Wheeler did okay at center but towards the end he was looking totally exhausted, he's really not a long term option at center.

I think if you get upgrade for Roslovic, you do it.
He seems like winger more than C but can situationally play C.

Its hard to say really cause at two points of the season he was playing center and did well but then Maurice put him back to the wing for whatever reason.
Not sure how much Jets you watch but Maurice doesn't put much trust in young players unless injuries force his hand.

I'm aware of Maurice approach.
How the Jets D looked like, major props to him making what he did with it.
