Guys! Please check out Matt Galajda!! I hope we're scouting the NCAA for some serious goalie talent.

I’ll take a look! I swear Wilson watches these things I was spouting off for a month about KHL goalies before he signed Melnichuyk

Obviously his numbers are incredible, but it's worth considering that Cornell is a pretty consistently great team, and they always have solid goaltending. Not always to the ridiculous extent that he's had, but when there's that long of a track record of quality goaltending, to me that suggests at least part of his success is a result of being a system goalie.

Oof McGoof... I met him last FanFest. We had a conversation about what it's like to be a brick wall, it's a bummer to see him fall out.

Well, if it's any consolation, this guy Galajda has an even better NCAA record.

He is 6 ft tall and 187 lbs, not exactly the ideal goalie build. He is also 22, and if he were on the market Toronto would sign him and put him in the A for sure.

His numbers don't lie, no matter what his height and weight are.

He was committed to Cornell until the end of this season, so maybe we start hearing some news now that everyone's season is over.

My favorite goalie from the khl Timur Bilyalov who aid an absolute beast he looks like hasek but he’s getting little to no interest because he’s only 5’10”

NHL needs to start realizing what the nfl figured out with Wilson an Murray yes is good to have a bigger goalie but don’t ignore the smaller guys with unreal
Stats, Tampa has done this with smaller forwards and to great success some GM is going to make smart decisions. By picking up smaller goalies and having great success

Toronto would sign him though. They have infinite money and he's from the GTA (kinda).

I mean those numbers. 🔥. Goaltending is odd to predict. Personally you give nabby a development year with a guy and i like he chances.

The kid attended Flames development camp a few years ago. He's undersized, but the numbers may be worth a contract.

College and KHL goalies are tough to project, because they all typically have phenomenal numbers. For example, if you look at the KHL goalie leaders, there's 10+ goalies with a .920

I think I checked out Galajda's EP page a month or two ago when the whole NCAA free agency opened up. Certainly looked good with his numbers and is still somewhat young. I'd be willing to give him a shot in the organization (not necessarily immediately with the big club), but yeah it's definitely an option. When free agency starts up again next year, I's be happy to go after him if he has another statistically good season. One thing to note is that not all of these guys pan out like mentioned above. Shortridge had a horrendous year after his brilliant senior NCAA year. Not saying this would be the case with Galajda, but it's something to keep in mind.

All good points. I like his chances for making the big league based on everything I've read about the kid -- his ups and downs, his attitude, his drive... All class. Plus, unlike the KHL, NCAA is NA ice, and like the KHL, he's playing against mostly adults, not teenagers.
