Just enjoy the Play-in round as a hockey fan. The CHI/EDM, Canes/NYR, Tor/CBJ, and Jets/Flames series should all be fun to watch.

Let me also comment on Montour, you do know he had the best +/- and the second best PDO among all Buffalo skaters while getting minimal PP time.

But on the team.
The team had the NHL 9th best home record and the ninth fewest 5 on 5 goals against.
One more win and the team is in the preliminary round.
If the PK was even middling, they are in the preliminaries.
If Hutton did not completely collapse, they in the preliminaries.
If Vesey and Skinner had their average NHL year, they are in the preliminaries.

I am the eternal optimist:
The team appears to have 4 solid top 6 performers, Eichel, Reinhart, Olofsson and Skinner.
Some say the prospects are thin.
Cozens alone makes it good.
Mittelstadt is called a bust, but he has 39 pts in 114 NHL and he is only 21 years old,
Thompson has bulked up, has an excellent AHL resume and a great attitude.
Kahun appears to be ready for prime time.
That is 4 possible fits among the top 6.
And they have the seventh over all in draft that is considered very deep.

They have 7 possible top 4 defensemen on the roster.
They also have many defensemen in the pipe line.
They let in a lot of shots, but is that because the forwards are unable to keep the puck in the offensive zone?

While we can lament another season without a post season, there is reason to be hopeful.

I'm not not hopeful I'm just angry at how good we looked to what we became. It does look as though Hutton and Skinner where the major factors that pulled us down, I hope for Eichels sake we make the playoffs next year. He will be amazing in them, I can just tell.

Well, I’m trying to say that saying you’ve earned to be cheered for because you were the best team in the league for 6 years, and then have been an ok to poor team for 3, that you have endured years of struggle.

To be honest, it’s quite hard to say the hawks are a crappy team. Given their resume, they are still in a position that they could beat the oilers. I am just trying to make you mad, lol
