I honestly don't think there is any package the Sharks could throw together to make them say yes

First, this is a hypothetical. All these AGM teams are...

Also, last I checked, Eichel can request a trade. Read the SportsNet article in the description. It's bad. grimace

Sharks and buffalo should be trade partners but in a different sense, Sharks shipping some playoff tested talent to appease eichel and get back picks and prospects and some cheaper options to what they are paying now.

I feel bad for you guys in BUF. I hope something turns around for you, but if it doesn't Eichel might bounce for peanuts.

Oh I am no Sabres fan, but even if he asked for a trade they would probably ask for a great young C, or elite prospect center, along with very good wingers.

Sure, maybe. But I made this AGM team for posterity; mostly to see if SJ could afford the additional $10M.

Don't get it twisted, I don't care at all about Buffalo. Get Eichel out of my division.

Respectable counter, but I made this mostly to see if I could manage the cap hit with our current principle forwards.

If the Sharks want Eichel, I think you are looking at Hertl, Merkley, and Tampa's first.

Hertl is not as good as Eichel, but is a legitimate first-line center, young, and signed to a great contract. Buffalo is going to demand that.

Probably not a great match. You have to make 6 other trades to get 22 players under the cap.SJ picks aren't close enough. If they still had this year's 1st.

NJ is a good match.

Meier, Couture, a couple top prospects and 2020 1st from TB for Eichel, Okposo and Hutton???? Give Okposo a chance on a win now team. Hutton saves you a 3rd...

My thought was a possibility of starting fresh in net for sharks and some depth on the blueline that’s not over priced and over termed

Doubt the Sharks even have what it takes to get Jack Eichel out of Buffalo, And just picks alone wont cut it.

With how deep this year's draft is I basically gave up three 1sts in trade. Also, I'm operating from the idea of adding him to our core, not building a new team around him. BUF has some good prospects waiting the be called up.
Also, according to the article, they may have to do some damage control to keep Dahlin. I looks like things aren't lookin so hot in NW NY.

Realistically speaking, the only moves we're likely to make are signing Toffoli, Greiss, and maybe adding another forward like Killorn or Bailey. Hopefully we keep our 2020 picks to use them in the draft, then we scour the undrafted overager juniors/Euro markets to cherry pick high-end talent to refill our prospect pool like we've already started doing.

The last thing Sharks need to do is make another huge trade for a star player. I feel bad for the GM that replaces Doug Wilson. Itll take him 5 years to make up for Wilson's mistakes.

This would be crazy. I'm not gonna speculate as to what the package would have to be going back to BUF because a fair trade is always either too little or too much.

But if it could happen...wow...that would be f*cking wild.

One more year of missing the Playoffs and trade offers may not be necessary. Jack might quit BUF, Botterill gets fired, and the owners entertain selling the franchise to Hartford or Quebec.

I feel bad for you guys. I don't know what the curse is, but there's something going on.

I've seen a lot of people mention Meier.

I don't think a trade based around Meier could work. I know that his counting numbers haven't been *that* great, but his underlying numbers are top-notch. At even strength, he pushes the play at an elite level. With better linemates and more PP time, you have someone who could be a 90-point winger. While it is not a guarantee, given his youth and trajectory, saying that he has that potential is reasonable.

Obviously, Eichel is the more proven commodity, especially when it comes to offensive prowess. But asking the Sharks to trade a first-line-winger who has a reasonable shot at being an elite winger, along with numerous valuable assets is going too far.
