He’s not getting traded this offseason.
It’s very concerning that people don’t view him as a top 10 player.

He is definitely a top 10 player, the Sabres would have to decide do they want an offer that can help them in the immediacy, or do they go full scorched earth like the Sens did

Top 10 center... probably. Top 10 player... not a chance.

Anyways... pretty big overpay by Colorado. Take out the picks and maybe but Colorado's still overpaying slightly.

Top 10 in scoring. Had a better PPG than Matthews which people view as a top 10 player.

I wouldn’t go full scorched earth until next years trade deadline, and hopefully have enough picks to get your ideal protected list for expansion draft and start there with picks and young players. Dahlin, cozens start and whatever you can find for protected

Yeah... and over the last 2 season Marner has had a better PPG than both of them plus he plays the PK. But he's still not a top 10 player.

Yep this is a good example of the cost. It will take a core player, a blue chip prospect, a 1st or two and another nhl ready player. Not cheap but acquiring truly great elite players is not cheap.

Kopitar is to old.

Kopitar isn't the main draw, just a current roster player with the same cap hit to make the cap work.

Vilardi is the main return of this trade. The kid is quite good and looks to have all of his injury issues behind him. He's going to be the 1C or 2C (the other spot going to Turcotte) for LA for a long time.

Buffalo gets a guaranteed top 7 pick this summer with a 30% of getting a lottery win (up from 20%), plus another lottery pick next summer.

i mean, he's probably a top 10 player, but he had 2 less points in 2 less games than Matthews
the reason people may say matthews is a top 10 player and eichel isnt is the 11 extra goals

Why the hell would we do this? Give up the better pick, and the better player? Get a prospect, i personally was never a fan of, to acquire an extra first.

This downright BLOWS harder than a Saturday Night hooker down on chippewa.

I was toying with a similar one Rantanen, Newhook, 1st and a roster player, and ditched it because while the appeal of 2 1C’s anchoring your team that’s a lot of cheap talent to throw away. Ultimately, the Avs are going to roll w/Byram and Newhook joining MacK, Makar, Rantanen, and Girard as the core for the next 10 yrs.

Have to agree with that take. And let’s see Vilardi play a whole season. Big guys with back problems = short careers.

Thank you. Centers> wingers. Mikko doesn’t even have a deal and Jost is unproven. Maybe a 3rd
