That probably beats all offers. You could make the argument for another 1st but I don't think you have to here. It certainly hits all the areas Buffalo needs (bunch of NHL ready or close center/wing options and an LD). That might be the best crafted Eichel trade yet. I think this one's a yes if Eichel demands a trade even in division.

Why would Buffallo want NHL ready players? If they trade Eichel it is full rebuild mode

Game 1 of the season; Eichel out 6 months with a broken leg. Habs plunge to 14th in the East. Enough depth? Nahhh not before 2-3 years. Both teams refuse the deal

You have to put someone on the ice and these are NHL ready players that are a bit more of a known commodity and would fit their pseudo-rebuild (they still have Dahlin so his time frame becomes the team's). The Sabres team on the other end of this deal might even be a bit better in the short term as they'd be a heck of a lot more balanced. They won't have a true 1C yet but right now all they have is a 1C and it hasn't worked.

Because NHL ready means young High talent... not Prospect anymore

If Buffalo is in a position where they want to get him out of town, they accept. If it wasn't that situation, they don't trade him until the final year of his contract either way. Would Montreal do this? That's the question. Still reasonably deep at center but the defense suffers.

They don't suffer too much... as Fleury, Juulsen Romanov, Leskinen, Brook are in the window... and more is coming like Fairbrother, Struble, Harris, NOrlinder, LeGuerrier who showed great thinking they might jump in the big-league in 2-3 years

Doesn't everyone want NHL ready players? Isnt that the end game of the draft and develop model? Everyone coming back (outside of Caulfield) is young and ready to play in the NHL.

Love the Team explanation "Every Buff fan refuse all offer.... even the crazy one... so I decide to make a real crazy one and still MTL as enough depth to support it!!! So maybe not that crazy"
it's so true. Ive said this before about Eichel trades, but Ill say it again. BUffalo will lose the trade if they deal Eichel. The guy is a superstar and signed thru his prime.
