That is a big nope from Carolina. Why would you tradetwo core players for someone who wants out of an organisation? That's so dumb

That’s more like it. Probably don’t need to include Necas but this is closer to what it would actually cost to land an elite franchise player under 25.

If you drop Trocheck and swap Bean for like Sellgren then you're in the ballpark. Which is to say that the value is off by an entire Trocheck+.

Again, Botts has already traded a 1C and he got fleeced, and a player wanting out of town loses leverage for a GM. Eichel's on-ice value and what the Sabres can actually return in a trade are not the same thing. That's why a place like this exists, so that Sabres fans can pretend that they have a competent GM and that their team isn't in shambles.

I'd prefer dealing Svechnikov over Teravainen (and I find Svech near-untradeable); that's how important he is to the Canes RN.

Their isn't a player on this team that is as talented and Eichel. Not happening, and Turbo is good but he always has played with Aho and Nino on this team.

TT's RAPM makes Eichel look like an average top 6 joe, and Aho's are better than Eichel's too. This is an EASY nope from Carolina. I know you're a buffalo fan, and I know that you value Eichel very highly, but analytically, this ain't worth it.

This isn't like an expansion draft. You don't get to protect 7-3-1 in an Eichel trade.

No, you just don't give up your best players best friend, your best defensive forward, and one of the most underrated forwards in the NHL, as well as one of only 2 right-handed shots on the roster, who is going to be a 1st line player for a player who wants out of an organization. That's VERY poor asset management. Eichel's value dropped the second he said he's sick of losing.

A number 1 center that could and will score 110-130 next year is better than your players, you team with Eichel would be unstoppable. Ye ok you value players highly, but they are not Eichel level this post is to figure out a realistic trade for Eichel, but yes as Carolina you probably lose depth on all lines so I wouldn't do this deal, but the deal is fair value.

His value hasn't dropped at all. Of course he's sick of losing - who wouldn't be?! That is silly.

You have to give quality to get quality.

Quality over quantity only matters when its not your team. Every fan base on here thinks their secondary depth scoring is worth another teams star player. Nope, no they aren't. No GM beyond Chiarelli would trade an elite franchise centre for a secondary players and a pick. This is just silly.

Let's imagine Eichel truly wants out of Buffalo. It's a tough trade in general because Eichel's 10m cap hit. Not saying Eichel isn't worth the 10m.
But Eichel only has himself to blame Sure it was hard to turn down 10m X 8 years, but he had the choice. He must've then as he knows now, the Sabres will be hard pressed to make the playoffs throughout his Sabres tenure. Paying Skinner 9m adds to the Sabres difficulties.
I admire Trouba. He wanted out of Winnipeg. He took less money, less security by signing short term deals, so he could get to UFA as soon as he could. Eichel...suck it up. You could have been a UFA in the summer of 2022.

I get the argument of a player demanding a trade and that lowering the negotiating power of the team who owns him but with Eichel not having a NMC at this time, everyone would have a chance and Buffalo would want a franchise centre of similar age. I think Florida was likely be a good target. Bob and Barkov for Eichel and Okoposo or something like that with maybe a 1st going Buffalo's way as well. That is just off the top of my head but it gets Buffalo another franchise centre at least.
