If Toronto gets bounced in the play in round with their roster forget the draft they should be relegated to the AHL for at least a season.

your profile photo implies that you're a red wings fan so i don't know if you should talk about relegation this year

Yes Detroit is bad this season but every body knew they would be but Detroit doesn't have 4 of the best forwards in the league. If the season wasn't cut short the Leafs were pretty close to missing the playoffs. Maybe it's good Toronto gets knocked out in the play in round at least then no one will be talking about how bad Detroit was they will be too busy talking about Toronto not being able to do anything in the post season.

If Laf gets drafted Marner or Nylander is on the chopping block. Dubas would probs move marner or Nylander to a team like NJ for picks and pieces (bratt + severson + etc) as it frees up cap space and allows them to build a proper blue line

They were playing super well under Keefe and were finally coming off of injuries on Mikheyev and Rielly/Muzzin, our 2 best defensemen?

you make a fair point, and i'd be inclined to agree if these were normal circumstances. But as we all know, they're not. Losing in a 5 game series after a 4 month layoff to a team that was virtually equal to them in the regular season is perfectly understandable. By your argument the penguins should be relegated if they lose to the Habs in the play-in, which lots of people have said is a distinct possibility.

Pittsburgh 90% best players are over 30 and most of them have 3 Stanley Cups already and has nothing to prove. While Toronto has more talent, is younger and they are looking for their first playoff series win since 2012-13.

I think I'll ride out Lafs ELC before I move a Marners or Nylander
