Top 10 Prospects

Description
I know Dahlen signed with Timra again but Wilson said a couple days ago that he will remain SJ property going forward, assuming another contract is in the works. Kniazev is a long term project defenseman so he is replaced by Pasichnuk. Leonard had a big year with UMass and is looking like he may have top six potential, still not enough to leapfrog Chmelevski but close. Merkley remains number one after two straight seasons of improving his defensive game. May not be ready to make the jump to the nhl this year but he’s looking awesome. Definitely still top 4 PP specialist potential. Chekhovich had a rough first full year in the AHL but still has immense skill and high potential in my eyes. If he makes strides next year SJ fans could be in for a real treat.

Btw Wilson also said he expects Dahlen to come over to North America after his season in Sweden. So he’s very likely getting another contract.

Wouldn't really consider Gregor and True prospects anymore

I know you said Kniazev is a long term project but I still think he should be up here, along with Blichfeld. I feel Blichfeld is close to being one of our top 5 prospects.

Is Spiridonov really a top 10 prospect?

You’re cute. If you knew anything about any of these players you’d have said something of substance but instead you have defaulted for immature insulting. Go Leafs!

Yes Spiridonov is a pretty good player. I’ve done my homework on these players. Blichfeld is pretty okay but he doesn’t take anyone’s spot on this list.

What no don't worry you'll get Clarke or Raty next year.

Who's on your radar for the TB pick? Any players you're hoping for?

I would think he would be about the same or better than Chekovich. Blichfeld had a way better rookie season and he was also named to the AHL All-Star team.

personally I think Reichel would be a good option. There's a decent chance we could get him with our 2020 2nd, so it might be best to not use our 1st on him.

If he's available, Lapierre is someone who I could see Doug pick. High ceiling, but very risky given his injury history, other teams may be hesitant to pick him but Doug always takes the risk in the draft as you've seen with Merkley and Hamaliuk.

Perreault is another player I that I think could be a solid option for us.

btw, these players I could envision us picking if we pick somewhere around 25-31 overall

It sucks for Sharks fans not having that high pick, but they'll still essentially draft 2 first round talents with the late 1st and early 2nd

Kniazev belongs on here over True. True is more NHL ready but pretty much maxed out as a 4C

at least it's not as worst as the one from the Avs AGM post. There were a lot Avs AGM fantasy team of 19-20 season with either Jack Hughes or Kaapo Kakko until the 2019 Sens pick dropped to the 4th pick. (1 at every 2-3 Avs AGM from last season had Hughes or Kakko)

If Sens were able to "get over" from giving up Byram, Girard++ for rental Duchene, I'm sure you guys will be fine too, especially if you consider the fact Karlsson wasnt a rental. Then again, the picks and bluechips are going to come sooner or later. There's Shane Wright and Connor Bédard in 2022 ....Aatu Raty in 2021.

Boy, if two of your top ten prospects aren't under contract, it bespeaks a kind of bareness in the cupboard . . . but I have the feeling that your first two picks this year will add to this list.

He is an excellent skater. Maybe the best skating prospect the sharks have currently. That said I think he is quite the project defenseman like Kniazev.

Well Yegor and Jonathan are under contract in Russia and Sweden respectively. Yegor will make the trip overseas after his year in Russia and same for Dahlen.

Sharks org is very adept at getting unsigned talent from European leagues, I think they’re the most active org in scouting overseas. So that helps a lot. Sorensen, M Karlsson, Donskoi, Simek, Kellman and now Handemark and Melnichuk to name a few. None are top line players but they are all nhl players and rarely does the org miss here. Same can be said for draft picks though, not all make it to the nhl even and that includes 1st rounders. This is the saving grace of the Sharks org.

We have three picks in the first 58 picks and two in the top 34. Which gives us the ability to get a high risk high reward player along with a safer pick in the top 34. This coming draft will really help bolster the pool.
