At that price you're the highest bidder imo, but that contract will look bad in 3-4 years

It might, but lots of people whined about the Gio deal. I know it's 3 mill more, but Petro is also a much better player, he's bigger and a better skater and hasn't been as injury prone as Gio throughout his career.

So he's gonna take 750k to stay with the Blues?

Eh? Where do you imagine I suggested that he would take the league minimum to stay in STL?

I was being tongue in cheek. Oddly enough lots of people find Calgary an attractive place to live though. New arena a few years away too.

St Louis can't afford him even at league minimum, so what's your solution?

I'm not implying it isn't. But he currently plays for a top Cup contender that is the only team he's ever played for in his wife's hometown. And they have one-year-old triplets.

You do know we can alter our roster/cap space with various roster mechanisms such as trades, right? smile

Again, what's your solution? "Trades" is pretty vague.

Well, if they allow a CBO, we'd be more than halfway there. Either way, I'd say Allen and Bozak are the primary guys who'd go on the block. I never said it would be a snap, but I'm confident Army has a plan.

I don't think there will be a CBO, I'm pretty sure it's not even being discussed. It would make things easier for the Oilers too...

Any trade involving Allen and Bozak will involve some salary coming back, so those 2 alone won't be enough to get Pietrangelo signed.
