As someone else told me they have basically already cut 10m in salary structure so these moves aren't necessary, but I agree they should get moved to either Hamilton or QBC

Got it. Could probably undo the Yandle deal in that case, but Brodin should be an upgrade on D.

Weegar is getting at least double that, if not triple. And after a season on Florida's top D pairing I doubt he'd be on the 3rd pairing.

Haula gets closer to $4.5m.

Minnesota can do better than that return for Brodin. Matheson isn't a good contract to take on.

Not sure why Carolina would do that trade.

Bettman basically said that QC wasn’t a viable NHL market, and there was no chance they would ever get a team. I’ve always thought Milwaukee would make a ton of sense.

Yandle is so much better than Gardiner.

I’m actually from and live in Milwaukee. As awesome as that would be with Fiserv Forum being a world class venue I don’t think the Bucks owners want anything to do with NHL hockey competing with them. The Blackhawks would throw a fit I’m sure too. Not saying you’re wrong about what Bettman said, but I don’t get how QBC isn’t a viable market.

Not big enough, some tv stuff etc etc. The whole thing about nearby teams is easily solved. They get paid off for the tv implications etc etc. The wild and hawks, and probably red wings would get significant money.

In terms of the Bucs owner, I’m guessing he owns the arena? If that’s the case, he should love the concept of a second tenant. I’m from Boston, and the garden is the bruins arena, and the Celtics are their tenant. Been that way since the early days. I imagine a similar situation could exist in Milwaukee, meaning a lot more money for the owner of the Bucs, and the industry around the arena.

Milwaukee is an awesome city, and Wisconsin deserves a hockey team.

The Panthers should definitely move.

That being said, seeing the success of the Lightning is the reason why I think Bettman wants to keep them in South Florida. The Lightning were a joke too for a while, that being said they have much better ownership than the Cats...

All solid points. Milwaukee is unfortunately the 39th largest metro area in the country... not sure if that’s enough combined spending power to support ticket and suite sales for the Bucks, Brewers, Packers (yes I know Green Bay not Milwaukee) and an NHL team. Either way two NHL teams in Florida is nonsense.

If that's the serious offer to Weegar, he'll sign an offer sheet for $4 million for 5 years from any one of about half a dozen teams.

Honestly didn’t realize he’s as valuable as he is. Got lazy.

My dream off-season trade is Rickard Rakell, Jacob Larsson and our 2020 third for MacKenzie Weegar and Florida's 2020 first.
