Bettman basically said that QC wasn’t a viable NHL market, and there was no chance they would ever get a team. I’ve always thought Milwaukee would make a ton of sense.

I’m actually from and live in Milwaukee. As awesome as that would be with Fiserv Forum being a world class venue I don’t think the Bucks owners want anything to do with NHL hockey competing with them. The Blackhawks would throw a fit I’m sure too. Not saying you’re wrong about what Bettman said, but I don’t get how QBC isn’t a viable market.

Not big enough, some tv stuff etc etc. The whole thing about nearby teams is easily solved. They get paid off for the tv implications etc etc. The wild and hawks, and probably red wings would get significant money.

In terms of the Bucs owner, I’m guessing he owns the arena? If that’s the case, he should love the concept of a second tenant. I’m from Boston, and the garden is the bruins arena, and the Celtics are their tenant. Been that way since the early days. I imagine a similar situation could exist in Milwaukee, meaning a lot more money for the owner of the Bucs, and the industry around the arena.

Milwaukee is an awesome city, and Wisconsin deserves a hockey team.

That being said, seeing the success of the Lightning is the reason why I think Bettman wants to keep them in South Florida. The Lightning were a joke too for a while, that being said they have much better ownership than the Cats...

Milwaukee is unfortunately the 39th largest metro area in the country... not sure if that’s enough combined spending power to support ticket and suite sales for the Bucks, Brewers, Packers (yes I know Green Bay not Milwaukee) and an NHL team. Either way two NHL teams in Florida is nonsense.

If that's the serious offer to Weegar, he'll sign an offer sheet for $4 million for 5 years from any one of about half a dozen teams.
