I don’t think he will have much of a market, so there’s a good chance.

It doesn’t matter whether he would come back. We don’t want him, at all.

Edit: I didn’t see that you put him at C, wow that is bad. Good luck getting CJ to do that.

As a 3rd line center, I'm sure he would give him a chance. Most people tend to forget that he scored 30 goals, which was his best season, as a centre on a mediocre team.

VAN decline, they really like MacEwen and he will be a full time player next season for them.

He played the best hockey of his life here and was a 1st liner. Can't deny that fact.

Then he got what was it, a knee injury? And he's been sending steadily downward since

MTL doesn't need him unless the following conditions are met.
1. He agrees that he won't play center and no ****ing about it.
2. He agrees to a 1mil 1 year show me deal.
3. His Dad also signs a contract to stay as far away as possible for one year.
4. His sister agrees to date me.

Failing these conditions I wouldn't bring him back. LOL.

In all honesty, worse thing we can do is bring a guy like him back. He'd be a cancer around our younger players (ie. Suzuki, KK, and especially Romanov)

I would want him back, I rewatched his highlights and thought wow this guy could have been a star.

It's ironic that everybody criticized Therrien for how he was using Galchenyuk, meanwhile Therrien got the best hockey out of him compared to every other coach in the NHL.

Anyways, I doubt Galchenyuk would be brought back. For one, Julien was a terrible coach for Galchenyuk. I don't think management will want to risk exposing their young guys to somebody like Galchenyuk who was involved with a lot of bad off ice stuff while he was in MTL either.

There will be a better fit for him elsewhere, realistically we already have Drouin and Tatar for top 6 LW. Galchenyuk can't play anywhere else.

Edit:
I thought Galchenyuk would have been a good option if we traded somebody like Tatar at the trade deadline.

Alex Galchenyuk isn’t a centre. He’s proved that time and time again on many teams. There’s a reason he was playing 4th line LW for most of the end of his tenure in Montreal. He’s a liability defensively, and his only offensive weapon is his shot, which he usually isn’t good enough to get into position to use.

And as you can see on everyone’s t-shirts from training camp, for the Canadiens, “attitude is everything”. That’s the main reason why we will never bring Galchenyuk back.

My prediction is like Nail Yakupov, Galchenyuk might sign a really low contract with some team. Then he won’t work out, and he’ll be back in Russia by next season.
