Avs Acquire Palms In Offseason

Created by: Teemu_salami

Initial Creation Date: May 30, 2020
Published: May 30, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
A Landeskog-ish Player that can keep up the pace of the game whilst still not overpowering the other forwards. A perfect harmony for the second line Burakovsky/Playmaker, Kadri/Two Way Forward, and Palmieri/Sniper, this line would flow like butter. This trade does mean Donskoi gets demoted, but depending on other forwards play i'm sure he will move up and down the lineup. additionally if landy gets injured palmieri could be a good temporary replacement to play with big mack.

It’s the perfect acquisition for the Avs, but a 1st probably has to go to NJ. They got one for Coleman, so I doubt they settle for less as Palmieri is the superior player

Don't think you even move the needle on Palmieri without a 1st rounder at the very least. Guy was on pace for 32 goals, and I don't really see a reason for NJD to trade him. Probably going to be their captain at some point.

If the conditionals are assessed based on Palmieri's production in 20/21 (i.e. in the 2021 offseason), how are you going to give them draft picks from 2020?

In general I think the idea is nice, but I don't think NJ would agree to a trade with so many conditions. They'd rather just get a 1st outright I would think.

Also, I wouldn't necessarily view Burakovsky as a playmaker on that line as he's more of a shooter/trigger man himself. A playmaker like Palat or Tatar would be the ideal fit on that line rather than a sniper, though I would still certainly welcome a player like Palmieri as well.
