Toronto looks at that offer and says, “how bout no. “

We don’t want Okposo, Dahlin would be nice, not sure if I’d give up our number one defence for him, and Marner >>>>>>> Okposo and Reinhart

Dahlin's effectively in the TOP10 of the league when speaking in value.

Personally I'd rather have Dahlin. Eichel is one of the very few players that could be traded evenly for Jones. The trade with CBJ is a bit much I think Werenski and the 1st would do it.

There are issues with that trade to Toronto

Heres the thing toronto would probs want Dahlin but he is gonna be more expensive to resign than morgan so leafs probably pass.
Rhienhart is terrible defensively so moving marner for him would be a no. Plus Dubas doesnt want to go through another long signing so pass
Okoposo is just a big no as he would be an expensive 4th liner here.

Come on one year and Leafs would just give Okposo a one-way ticket to Robidas Island because that's how they do things laugh

Dahlin and Reinhart are going to be cheaper duo to sign than Marner and Rielly, so that point is moot.

And Okposo will probably get manhandled the way @justaboss said.

the main issue is leafs are full of wings and so Okoposo really would have no place here. And even if there was Dubas wouldnt want him cause 6mill till 2023 ouch

Rhiendhart would go where marner was
Dahlin would replace rielly so leafs would probs be

Hyman-Matthews-Rhiendhart
Mikeyv-Tavares-Nylander
Johnsson-Kerfoot-Kapenan
Engvall-Spazza/Gauthier-Barbanov

Dahlin-?
Muzzin-Holl
Lehtonen/Sandin-Dermott

could work for a short while then Dahlins contract becomes a problem.

Lol why do you spell Reinhart so weirdly?

My lines would be in the ballpark of
Hyman-Matthews-Kapanen (powerhouse, all around superstar, speedster)
Nylander-Tavares-Reinhart (one of the most skilled lines in the league)
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Barabanov (two good russian wingers with a decent 2-way C)
Engvall-Spezza-Okposo (brings some experience and skill to the table)

Dahlin-Sandin (the offensive capabilities are limitless)
Muzzin-Holl (good shutdown pair)
Dermott-Lehtonen (a defensive D paired with an offensive one, fairly common combination)

Andersen-Campbell

its tempting but the main issue will ultimately be Dahlin. He comes up at the same time we need a new goalie. Overall its just better to keep rielly as leafs can worry first about the starting goalie in 2021-2022 than in 2020-2023 worry about resigning Rielly.

Dahlin is a future Norris contender, Rielly is a Norris contender now. Reinhart is a quarter of what Marner is and Okoposo is barely an NHLer at this point. This trade is garbage.

Not just that though. Reinhart has hands but he isn't a good skater and I am not sure he would keep ahead of Kapanen for a spot in the top 6. Marner is better, as good as Dahlin is, Rielly is an all-star right now and is going to be a Leaf for life.

Other Sharks fans are disagreeing with you about this particular trade.

And SJ should cash in on Hertl if they want something out of him. If Hertl is looking for success he's leaving SJ as soon as he can.

You like to overvalue your assets, huh.

Rielly is not a Norris contender and he'll never win that trophy with the Leafs. Granted he's a great D, but in a matter of year or two he'll be a step or two behind Dahlin, at which point that trade is going to look great from Leafs POV.

Okposo is added as a money compensator for that one year. I could add a pick as a sweetener but imo Dahlin is enough of a sweetener in this case.

Dahlin will likely be better than Rielly but not a huge amount better. Marner is so much better than Reinhart. The difference is massive. Way more than the difference between Rielly and the future Dahlin.

It’s just jumbo joe. He doesn’t value Hertl like most of us do, and also wants to rebuild(which may be fair, but not going to happen)
