well I cant day I wouldnt be ecstatic for that draft, but I dont think ryan murray fixes our defensive woes. Equally, I think a backup or 1B goaltender is crucial for this offseason.

Schneider healthy and with a much lesser load is a solid bounce back candidate, and before they make a hockey trade and acquire someone most likely with more years of team control (recently signed with term left or RFA on a bridge), I decided to get a cheap stop gap, figured maybe murray is a great fit and they come to an agreement, or he leaves and smith takes the 1LD spot, no matter what we can see 1 more year of every kid in the lineup and they can make decisions on whos here for the long haul and who can get packaged for a LD

Why not just have Hughes at 2C? I'd buy out Schneider tbh

Zona gets a pick around 8 or 9, most likely 10, holtz drops, and jersey wins the lottery

They have cap to spare and when on his game schenider is better than a lot of backups, and hughes looked awful at C, might be better to shelter him defensively at first, and zacha has chemistry on that 2nd line

Schneider has not been on his game for like 3 or 2 years. I'd put Hughes at 3C at least, sign Dillon instead of getting Murray.

For Arizona's pick to be top 8 or 9 one or both of MTL/CHI has to win their play in and Arizona has to loose. Holtz probably isnt dropping to 10 either

He'll be gone by 7th or 8th at most, and the devils can always use the nucks pick or a prospect or 2 to move up

Isn't that what everybody said before this season?

I wouldn't buy him out either, unless there was a CBO. But please, don't show any faith in Corey Schneider, he can't be trusted anymore.

getting Lafreniere would be beautiful, why is Hughes 3rd line RW?

Buying out Schneider would be the dumbest thing from a cap standpoint. I definitely see the reasoning but he only has 2 years left on his deal since Devs were eliminated with the league resuming in a different playoff format. I don't mind having him as a back up, and if he gets hurt we can get a couple games out of Senn and see if hes any good.

Yeah, I don't think it's entirely necessary to buy him out, seeing that you have so much cap. I more so would do it if you wanted to be more competetive next season.

It just makes me wonder who exactly will they dangle to Seattle; Subban doesn't have a trade clause but we need anything on D we can get. Should be interesting.......

I know he's had injury issues but I'm pretty sure we can do better than that for Murray. At least have those picks conditionally upgrade based on games played or something.

Weve been hoping for him to bounce back for 2 years now. I think its more important to be trying to lighten blackwood's load than lighten Cory's. If he still stinks or gets injured, they are back in the same situation as this past yea: Either let Blackwood get abused, but still have a shot at winning, or play some beer-league-quality backup and virtually waive a white flag at the opening puck drop.
