Boston would need to add quite a bit. Also, BUF would be trading Eichel to the West not in the same Conference.

I feel the same way from the Bruins side. Don't get me wrong, Eichel is a fantastic player and a top 10 producing center. Young #1 RHD are hard to come by and McAvoy at 22yr old is already a top pairing d-man and is significantly cheaper than Eichel cap wise. I don't see a deal between both teams that makes sense TBH.

Eichel is untouchable. They are not trading him. Further, that is not even close to value for him.

Generally I’d agree with you. But if you are trading your best player you are taking the best package for him, not that this would be the beat package for him.

He has not lost his love for the game, he specifically stated his desire to win and his love for his coach.

And no, we wouldn't touch that trade.

there is not a chance I would trade McAvoy. Finding another young #1 dman is one of the hardest things you can do

I dont think so. I'm more of the mind that if they move him its for something that doesn't dictate a complete tear down. Would a swap with dallas for Seguin and some pieces.

U guys do get that that is McAvoy right? Top 5 RHD and still super young?
Because of his position and the fact that he is a year young he has slightly more value too

Now: 1 for 1 trade obviously favors the bruins, cant deny that.
But: this trade: throw in a 1st and a good young prospect in beecher. Thats a fair trade value-wise 100%

In saying that, its the bruins who reject. We dont need another center, and we arent giving up our best young defenseman.
McAvoy is more untouchable than Eichel (considering Eichel might want out)

So yeah, value wise - fair trade for both sides, Piece wise - Bruins reject, Sabres might reject too, but it would be after the bruins do

McAvoy is good and has a bright future, but no other position compares to having a top5 player at #1 center. If you have the best center in the league and the best defenseman in the league, the team with the best defenseman would need to add to that trade. That's just how it is, a defenseman is not as valuable as a #1 Center. Also, the trade doesn't make sense for the sabres because of how their roster is constructed. You could add 3 first round picks and I wouldn't bite, because the Sabres have an abundance of defenseman and no forwards. There isn't enough first round picks for me to trade the only forward I have (at the hardest position to find) for another good defenseman. Eichel is a 100 point player on a bottom team and McAvoy is a 30-40 point defenseman on a great team. The two do not compare.
