Let's say he does cost this much and is interested in leaving St Louis, is this the best option? That sets the market and Krug now costs less. Wouldn't you want to re-sign Krug at a lower cap hit? Saves you money for the inevitable payday of Pasta a few years down the road.

Yeah i know Sweeney wouldn't target Pietrangelo anyways, Pietrangelo would be seeking probably 7 x $10M from any team not named St Louis. And i doubt Sweeney would offer him that much. When he can get krug for much cheaper and put up similar numbers.

Prob unrealistic but figured he might take a slight haircut to play on a cup contender...If he wants that kind of money he's probably playing on a bad team...Krug is going to want 7 - 8 so I'm not sure how much you're really saving but who knows

IDK Bos seems to get these guys to sign team friendly deals...Plus you have 14 M off the books with Rask and Krejci up...Also have a lot of tradeable young players if worst comes to worst in Grez, Debrusk, Kase, Bjork

This wouldn't be fair for the rest of the East, but as an Avs fan this would certainly be preferable to him re-signing in St. Louis or joining Vancouver/Calgary/Winnipeg/Edmonton.

right now it seems that krugs market value is 7.5-9 million?? Wide range but people are saying closer to 8-9.5 idk
But he would take less to play in Boston (i have been saying 6.75 mil for 5 or 6 years which most people seem to agree on)
