I think there maybe a lot of merit to the Buffalo deal, but Pilut is more than a career AHLer..... the ask of a first is reaching. A 2nd yes. But a 1st is reaching.

I don't think the Ducks would even consider trading Rakell if the deal wasn't including a 1st or a top prospect. I like Thomson's potential, but he's had a rough start in the league

If the 1st is included, I would be offering something other than Pilut. I like Rackell a lot, but that seems awefully steep. Even if a 4th came back, it would look like a very good deal.

How high do you value Pilut? Potential top 4?

Considering his production the last two seasons maybe a first would be too much. He's a former 30+ scorer tho and I think he could bounce back. He's still in a good age with a team friendly contract.

I beleive he does have that potential yes. Sabres blueline is deep. Pilut buried as a result of numbers.

If I was a betting man, most Sabres fans would sooner move McCabe over Pilut. Been a 0.75 ppg pace for 2 seasons in Rochester with a strong defensive game to boot. Been an issue of how do you play him ahead of Dahlin, Risto, Miller, Montour, McCabe and Jokiharju???

Think his production over the last two years is a function of the Ducks being terrible.

Great player, but I don't think he can carry a line either. The 1st I think is right, or Pilut is right. Both...... I dunno.

Both trades are bad for ANA. Lindholm is worth more than this and both players coming from BUF are meh. Also Pilut is apparently heading to KHL.

I wouldn't take that bet, Pilut has already threatened to walk and no one cared. Pilut is good, he isnt big enough or have the tools to work anyone off the puck, his assets are in his skating and positioning, so if he doesnt start producing hes replaceable, but he has the talent to start producing if given a legit chance

Is his production bad in part due to them being bad or are they bad in part due to his production being bad

Pilut may have been bluffing to get a better contract.

That's fine; CapFriendly Rule #1: If you can't spell him, you can't have him.

Lindholm for Lundkvist and the Rangers' 2020 first is fine. We're not interested in the cap dump with the NMC.

Accepted value of Rakell is Colorado's 2020 first and Connor Timmins; Buffalo's first is too high, so Henri Jokiharju and the 2020 second is acceptable if we add one of our innumerable lefties (W or D). Jacob Larsson is better than Jake McCabe or Lawrence Pilut.

I think it's the team being bad. But that is merely opinion and by no means backed up by much.

Rangers decline. Lindholm just isn't a good target for the Rangers still rebuilding and Lindholm only with 2 years left.

Though if you want a Howden for Mahura trade we'll entertain that.
