Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Third of a series ending on June 30. Mainly doing these to get a better understanding of teams I’m not a “fan” of per say.

Any trade I make will also show up for the other team when I get to that team.

Don’t get mad at me for the lines for the whole series really since I’ll be using the lines before the stoppage and will factor in injured players where I see fit...though do feel free to make suggestions on the lines.

Boston Bruins:
Add about 1.25M in cap space since Anaheim bought out backes

Moore is a 7th d who produces the same rate as Lindstrom but is payed almost 2M more for 3 more years. Maybe a 2nd is overkill to move him but if I’m Detroit, a 3rd doesn’t interest me.
EDIT: changed the 2nd to a 3rd after advice from bruins fans

Krug takes a discount but I left enough space to pay him 9M if he doesn’t

Considering cap space this team can’t really do much.

You don’t need to include a pick to get rid of John Moore.

The lines are a bit screwy, as Bjork and studnicka aren’t really fourth line types. Top six is good.

You most likely do, but not one that valuable

How about now? Also I think you do need a pick to get rid of a moore and i don’t think Detroit wants him unless it’s valuable like a 2nd. You are also getting a 3rd pairing guy back. Idk I might be wrong tho. But the way I see it, if I’m pretty much any team, I don’t want that contract without incentive

You are. He’s a solid player that just got outplayed by Grzelcyk. Every time he’s in the lineup he does fine. I honestly don’t think the bruins want to move him if they don’t have. A 2nd is legitimate insanity. A 6th? Maybe if the bruins are up against the cap and everyone knows it. Detroit doesn’t make any sense for him anyhow.

Keep Moore if a 2nd is the price to pay. 3rd if we really need that $2,75M otherwise just leave him as 7th D if nobody wants him.

" Krug takes a discount " that's about the max Bruins could offer anyways so a discount is like $6,75M-$7M. No way he takes one year.

Good deals for Bjork and Grzelcyk, could get Chara for a bit less. DeBrusk (depends on how much left with Krug), will probably get a bridge deal ($2,5M-$3,75M).

Lines are almost perfect

Really? From what I’ve heard he isn’t an nhl d-man, I’ll change that right away. How about Moore and a 3rd for lindstrom? Also I think Detroit makes perfect sense.
If he bounces back they flip him for picks. If not they get much needed depth on d. He is much better than playing Alex biega in the top 4

Thanks for the input, the krug deal is supposed to be 7 years my bad, I didn’t know I messed that up.

I think there is enough cap left to give debrusk term

Thanks for the input

Bruins decline. No question about it. They don’t want lindstrom, and they definitely don’t want to give up a pick to move Moore. Total non starter.

Still, performance-wise, DeBrusk has been inconsistent (especially this year). He CAN be a 25-30G+20-25A and get 45-50 pts but he needs to produce on a regular basis. That's something you can use against him when you negotiate. From the Bruins side, history shows they've given bridge deals to most RFAs (Grzelcyk, McAvoy, Carlo, idk if Kuraly/Lauzon fits here but you get the sense) after their entry-level contract.

If they have enough space and they can get him at a good price for long-term, do it. But I just think there's more chance he gets a 2-3Y deal, especially if they don't have too much cap space/flat cap/Moore not moved/Krug+Grzelcyk getting more $. We'll see in couple months.

Who is Lindstrom? im guessing middle 6 potential based on the trade, but bruins dont really need or want him. Just keep the prospect and we will keep the 3rd lol

Rfa deals look pretty good,
Charas deal is good,

Detroit doesn’t need Moore and we will wait to see what Lindstrom develops into.

Unfortunately that isnt the case. 2.75 mil for a solid top 6 dman is an appropriate contract

Bruins like to carry 8 defenseman and Blidh isn't an NHLer. I believe they were doing him a favor by using him as a healthy scratch to reward him for being a good soldier in the AHL.

If Krug's AAV doesn't start with a 6 they let him walk, their internal contracts dictate that. They can't pay him much more (if at all) then Pasta and Marchand especially with a flat cap.

Likely 8th D being Zboril who finished the year strong, is a former 1st round pick and requires waivers.

Good job on this. Better then most Bruins fans.

What if they dont resign chara... they keep krug at sub 7m aav. they get debrusk on a bridge deal. nothing really warranting 5m aav deal right now. your top 6 dpairs would be grz/vaak and mcavoy, krug carlo, grz/lauzon clifton/k miller (if they give him another contract... which has been rumored) Dont forget next year is the expansion draft.

Sweeney may want to dump both Lindholm and Moore off.

Big year for Blidh and Zboril. As mentioned waivers kicking in.

Me thinks Moore can be sent somewhere. Don’t think his contract is that bad.

Sucks that the cap had to flatten like that. Makes the lineup tighter for sure.

But 21’ will be a shortened season probably. That’s a lot for DeBrusk. Might go a bit lower.

Don't see why they would move Lindholm. They could send him to Providence and not have any count towards the cap. Cassidy seems to trust him and I doubt he'd be claimed on waivers.

I don't see anything in Blidh. What does everyone else see that they have him in the lineup? Average speed, loves to hit, relatively high energy and no hands. I'd rather have Senyshen, Frederic or Gaunce in the lineup, they all have more upside.

Agree on Senyshyn and Frederic in the lineup. Cassidy likes Blidh, no matter what you and I think, that goes a long way. With Lindholm I would just rather see, as mentioned, Senyshyn, Frederic and Gaunce get more NHL experience. You are right Cassidy does like that 4th line vet presence.
