Well u can use all the fancy stats and analysts u want but to win games and ultimately the cup u have a score goals, fancy or not, if u cant put the best goalscorer to ever play hockey who's putting 50+ every year in the top 10 I dont know what to say..

To win games you have to outscore the other team. Scoring is only half the equation.

Imo Ovechkin is better. His influence to Caps team is higher than Malkin's to Pens team.

And yeah, I think Ovechkin is the best goal scorer in NHL history. I've never seen a guy with such a shot and scoring efficiency - and he's played through the time when NHL teams let the smallest amount of goals in it's history.

Ovechkin is the better player. Hes a power forward that is able to score 50 goals a year. that being said malkin is a freak. hes imo still a top 5 center in the NHL. Malkin also plays a more important position. hard to win with 0 center depth. both are once in a life time type players. TBH malkin has been better than Crosby at times... penguins had the benefit of having 2/3 of the leagues best players for about a decade

In my opinion Malkin. He is better all around as well, especially if you look at this year. Malkin 55 games 74 points, and Ovechkin 68 games 67 points. I agree that Ovechkin is the better goal score but Malkin is the better player on how much points he can get, and his all around ability.

i agree. it would be terrible if at the age of 34 Ovechkin was still the best winger in the NHL. im impressed with how well hes playing (mainly scoring) but the kids have time on their side. im happy with the future of the league.... after malkin Crosby and Ovechkin retire the NHL is in good hands.

I take Geno every time.
Centre depth is huge and having 2 elite centres has been huge for the pens success. I’m more than satisfied with Mr. 101. Lol. He’s a top-50 player all time and top-10 in the league still. This year he was in absolute beast mode. There was a time he was involved in 40% of the pens offense!!!
