If the Canes were to take Voracek or JvR they would have to move a contract back. And involving Hamilton in a trade for Voracek would be horrible for the Canes.
If Hamilton were included what do you think Philly could include? It would need to be something substantial
I agree and that's why Dzingel was included in original deal, hes just not what Philly would need, but IMO theres a big difference between Voracek and JVR:
Voracek, 2nd rounder and 2nd best defensive prospect in PHI system Egor Zamula for Bean, Suzuki and Hamilton (without salary retention) might work?
or
JVR, 1st rounder and 2nd best defensive prospect in PHI system Egor Zamula for Bean, Suzuki and Hamilton (without salary retention) might work? or just JVR (2 mil retained) and a 2nd for the original deal of Suzuki, Bean and Dzingel.
(Yes I'm not a fan of JVR, hes overpaid, but not massively, and hes a safe bet for 20-25 goals and 40-50pts, even on 3rd line).
Hamilton's UFA to be status and the expansion draft, (PHI would protect Provorov, Sanheim and Myers), both work against Hamiltons true value, and with Niskanen and Myers as RD, Hamilton would be a good add, but not a necessity, and likely only for a single season).
I really like Suzuki and Bean, and really like the idea of moving the size and duration of JVR's contract (although same applies for Voracek just in those terms), but CAR would be hard pressed to add value for either of those two contracts.
