Yeah I wasn't really sure the value there, it was just kind of a shot in the dark.

Hall gets 10M max. I personally think he's woth 8.5M...

If anyone gets 12M it will be Dahlin.

I just don't think the Sabres can even afford to spend 10 million on Hall. Had one great year but outside of that has not been an elite player. He has been a a very good for 60- 70 points per year and that to me is about 7-8 million per on a fair deal. Obviously he will get more than that which the Sabres cannot afford to grossly overpay for another winger (see Jeff Skinner). Dahlin I would expect to come in around 8-9 million per year unless he explodes this year

Yeah I agree. 10M is the max of what I think he'll get. As to what I would actually give him I'd say 8M maybe 8.5M if I really wanted him.

I don't think Dahlin takes 8 years unless it's an overpay. Look what happened to Eichel. He's stuck in Buffalo for another 6 years.

I don't see him taking anything less than Eichel. If he explodes he could be looking at 12M.

Id give Edmundson 4 x 4, wouldnt get into a bidding war for him though, Also as he is a UFA this year, youd have to work it in this year. 1% chance they get a CBO

I just cannot see that. Closest comparables would probably be Chabot 8 x 8 and Ekblad 8 x 7.5. Both had very similar production their first 2 seasons. Even if Dahlin gets 70 points next year I cannot see him getting more than 9.5 which would be significantly more than any defenseman has ever got off of an entry level deal. I would expect Dahlin to produce 60 - 65 points next year and get around 8 x 9. Have to expect with the cap staying flat the next couple of seasons that there will be little to no inflation on contracts year over year

Chabot is 23 whereas Dahlin is 20. Dahlin has a lot more potential to grow than Chabot.

Ekblad's contract was 10% of the total cap which would be 8.15M in today's cap. Also Dahlin's numbers are much better than Ekblad's. Ekblad had 36 points in a full season the season he signed. Dahlin had 40 points this season where he missed part of the season with a concussion.

If I was Dahlin's agent I'd tell him to ignore any 8 year deals under 9.5M. Take the 6.5Mx2 contract instead.

If he puts up 70 points next season as a 20 year old he's looking at 11-12M+.

Ekblad had 75 points in 159 games at .48 points per game. Dahlin has 84 points in 141 games at .59 points per game. Not a huge difference. Also Ekblad offered more of a physical presence and a better defensive game then Dahlin does at this point. Not to mention twice the goal production 27 to 13 for Dahlin. No doubt I would want Botterill to lock Dahlin up now like Florida did with Ekblad. I am confident that Dahlins production will increase where as Ekblads really has not. Other comp Werenski only 21 year 1 month old when signed 3 year 5 million bridge deal similar #'s first 2 years. Also much more likely Dahlin tops out around 55-60 points this year then him hitting 70.

Dahlin is much better than Werenski. He's in a class of his own. If his production stagnates and he only gets 50 points this season I can see him taking a 6Mx3 bridge deal. If he gets 70 points though he probably wins the Norris and he's gonna get paid.

If he wins the Norris and scores 70 points and does not sign an extension early like most players of his caliber do ie McDavod, Eichel, Ekblad then he will probably get somewhere in the 10 - 11 aav range. I think they should sign him now 8 X 9.25. That is a very fair deal

Yes, I agree they should sign him now if they can get him for that. I'd give him anything under 10M to sign right now for 8 years.
