I’m not even sure if MTL do that, Lafreniere is really good but he isn’t a franchise player IMO

Yeah, thats what I thought. I think a fair deal would be without the 2021 first. Honestly, I also think I'd rather have Poehling, Perfetti and Sanderson (or any pairs of players that will be available) plus the other 2nds. But the native top talents are rare....

Laf is undoubtably a franchise player.

Hawks aern't giving up the 9th pick and a third for Domi. Hawks fans like myself commonly trade away Strome on this site. Strome is a year younger and just as productive as Domi. Why would be trade strome just to bring in Domi. Makes no sense. We have Toews, Dach, and Strome down the middle and could use that 9th pick for Lundell or Rossi which are much more valuable than domi.

He will be more of a Taylor Hall. Very very good, but not quite the franchise player a team will need him to be.

Will do very well in a place that has a star 1C for him to play with, like NJ with Hughes, maybe even Det with Larkin but either way, likely will never be the 85 points and above franchise player.

Domi isn’t fetching a top 10 pick, especially with no term on his contract.

Say you were able to get Chicago’s pick, that draft haul is compelling, but ultimately the potential greatness of Lafreniere plus the ticket selling bump he would bring trumps it imo.

agree to disagree, that kid is a special talent. nothing he can't do, wouldn't be surprised at all if he's a 65-70 point guy in year 1 depending where he lands. also if he ends up in NJ on a line with Hughes I would be over the moon lol.

The only way you get 1 is probably if u win the lottery at 2 and then trade Domi for 9. Then trade 2 + 9 plus maybe something else for 1

Well Laf is better than everyone else so that’s what a team would ask for if they have it. They have all the leverage to ask whatever they want, they don’t have to trade that pick

His point total will depend on where he ends up, any of the bottom teams and he will be playing big minutes right away so his totals will be high but I'd still say he doesnt break 65.

Hughes body needs to catch up to his mind but Laff would do alot of the heavy lifting for him on the same line. Basically just get Hughes to puck and get into a shooting area and let him find you. It would be a very good tandem in a couple years

Let's say DET win 1st OA, Yzerman realllllllly like Stutzle, so trading down for 1 spot and landing the guy you want, wont take an A prospect to do that

What about 2020 1st x2 + Brook for Drysdale + conditional 2021 6th - conditional on if Drysdale plays 10 games with MTL

The trade posted here is probably close to being even but fair and value don't factor into it. Who ever gets the first pick they don't have to trade it so they aren't looking for fair trade and they don't have to. They can ask for whatever they want to and if no one wants to meet the asking price, they get to add Lafreniere to their lineup.

I disagree. He has all the tools to be a franchise winger
