In current level that might be true, but the fact is that DAL will never even consider moving Heiskanen for Marner. That's absolutely 100% certain.

Marner is TOP5 RW probably, but Heiskanen's about to become one of the best, if not the best D of modern day Hockey.

If marner was to go to dallas they would need to send equivalent cap back as they dont got alot of cap space. So Klingberg and either Pavelski or Radulov or some other players would have to come back. In general I dont see it working.

We do. Too much cap coming our way and we don’t have the prospect depth to be giving up young cost controlled forwards and first round picks. If the cap stays the same and you add Marner to the already expensive group of Benn, Segs, Rads, and Pavs you have roughly 37 million left to pay 7 more forwards, 6 defenseman, 2 goalies, and scratch players. Well here's the thing, Marner is Elite. Imo in order to get an elite player under the age of 24/25, you need another elite player under the age of 24/25, or a massive haul with tons of value but only if the team isn't competing. Your only elite player is Heiskanen.

Klingberg is not elite.
Nylander isn't either.
But Heiskanen is, and Marner certainly is as well.

Either way we likely aren't moving Marner.
