1996 Straka and Berard are aquired (Berard does not get eye injury because he is traded and stays)./ Straka would be lost to free agency.
1998. islanders never trade for Linden lose bertuzzi to free agency keep McCabe/ Dumont Never Traded
1999. Top Scorer Ziggy Palffy inst traded and stays in NYI due to Huge Contract extension
2000. Torres and Lars Jonsson(bust but young d was needed in 2000) get drafted because Isle's/ Isles still trade For Hamrlik But is gone due to free agency. Isle's miss the playoffs with no help at center.
2001. Peca gets Extention From isles and Connolly and Pyatt are Traded./ Chara and #2 overall Pick (Spezza) are never traded for Yashin./ Blake is Never Traded./Rupp is signed and becomes a goon.
2002. Czerkawski moves on in free agency
2003 Frans Nielson Becomes Promising rookie./Ray Whitney Decides to sign with physical younger isles squad(Playoff team)
2004. Islanders Keep Hunter But due to lack of ice time never reaches over 41 in his career./ Kurtis Foster signs as a depth player./ Isles Trade for Jovanovski(give up Prospects and Picks)
