Bergevin wont sign Domi to a 2-3 years deal just to lose him on the free market

I don't know Domi as a person (obviously), but if he listens to his agent and wants to make the most amount of money he can he will sign a bridge deal.
Maybe he loves playing hockey so much and loves Montreal so much that he cares very little about the money.
Like I said I don't know Domi therefore I don't know what he is thinking right now

Domi is only useful to us if he pays the wing. He seems to think he is a center and if Suzuki and KK develop like we hope we don't have a spot for him in the middle....IMO That's why I would sign him to a 1 year contract for this coming season play him on the wing and see how he performs.

Gallagher would be brutal at that price and term

I have to agree with that and Gally is my favorite player. He plays a hard game that will wear him down

I totally agree, I love Gally, pure heart and sole, but when he starts to slip it will be a hard fall. Not exactly sure how to deal with him to be honest.

Honestly it’s 4 years at 7 million maybe even 8

I think you're pretty close on gallagher, tatar, and danault.

just a tiny bit high on domi and mete.

too low and too long on petry. recently stralman got 3x$5.5 and hjalmarrson got 2x$5m and both of those guys aren't as good as petry. maybe 3-4years around $6m.

kotkaniemi is probably too low to but that heavily depends on how his next season goes. i'd expect something similar to the zacha contract (3x$2.25). keep on eye on the jost contact with colorado could be a good comparable.

Haven’t read everything, but the comparable for Petry is Edler .2-3 y @6m. I’m not sold on protecting fleury. Depending on next season, it’s a fight between mete, fleury and Juulsen

I don't get the Tatar move. Better sign him before draft and let go Evans unprotected. Not protecting Weber is a good option in order to keep a young D-Men. There are good chances that we lose him. Seattle would love to build around a legend like Vegas loved to build around Fleury. The money Montreal would save would make all these contracts work and also save a player like Arnia. Montreal needs to draft RD deepnest in the next draft.

This coming season well determine who gets protected. If a guy like Juulsen plays to the potential I think he has he very well may be protected and Weber exposed. If....if we resign Tatar, you would want to do it after the draft so you could protect somebody else from Seattle. That would be the same case for all the UFA's that summer, Gally Danault, Petry Armia…. the risk with that is somebody makes them an offer they can't refuse will you are waiting for the draft to pass.

I was thinking something like 4 years at $6,750,000.00 I think he signs that to stay with Montreal.

That would be amazing. I said 7 or 8 as a bonus for signing short term.

We sign him after the expansion draft, what's complicate in that, we didn't protect Radulov and Markov, we just need to make sure they want to resign

I wouldn’t risk it. If he hits fa same with 11 and 24, they will be some of the best and someone will pull a preds with duchene and offer them huge and maybe to much money

We would need to do that with all the UFA's that summer. Well the ones we want to sign anyway. If you sign them before the draft you have more bodies to protect. Giving Seattle more good options.

Again Kotkaniemi Domi Drouin Lehkonen are protect, resign Gallagher Danault Tatar then before the draft and expose Evans Vejdemo Byron Armia (UFA)
Petry Mete Fleury/Juulsen depends who plays the best hockey, the other exposed with Webby Chiarot Kulak

Byron would be great for us too, to be honest. I like him fine and he plays much bigger than his size, but in another year or so his contract is going to be a pain in the a$$
