PART 2- 2020-2021 PITTSBURGH PENS - If my TRADES happened in Pt1- The Best Team

Created by: Sidstick87
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 1, 2020
Published: Jun. 6, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

** If ONLY we would have made the "CORRECT MOVES" in 19'-20' at deadline, This 20'-21' Pittsburgh Pens team would have been Un-Stoppable **
This is the 95'-96' Bulls of Hockey - I'm thinking 70-75 Wins w/ 2 or 3 losses in playoffs & Championship Rings pre-made in regular season.
The NHL just decides to have the Cup travel w/ team till the end of Season & Playoffs, lol.

~ A Top 6 of : Crosby87 - Malkin71 - Guentzel59 - Rakell67 - Zucker16 - Granlund64 - would be In-freaking-sane !!
~ A Top 9 of : Crosby87 - Malkin71 - Guentzel59 - Rakell67 - Zucker16 - Granlund64 - Rusty17 - McCanner19 - Horny72 - Lowry27(17) is even more Crazy.
**** This team would be strait Arkham Asylum Bonkers ****
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

2020-2021 ~ OFF - SEASON MOVES

BUY-OUT :
** With Cap staying at a Flat $81.5m ~ All teams get [1] Free Buy-Out ~ *{Still have to pay the selected Players salary owed but The Cap Hit does NOT count}
PENGUINS select - LHD- Jack Johnson #3 [$3.25m] - {Put on LTIR to Show}

BUFFALO TRADE :
- Even tho I love MURRAY, If we get to Cup Finals, win another Cup in 19'-20' OR even have a long run in Play-offs w/ #30 in Net ....... [We probably will not be able to afford him at that point]
+ JARRY is the younger & more affordable Goalie that keeps getting better & better - Is he the long term better option ? - (Also I've been rooting for him for like 3yrs now, while everyone traded him)
~ Pens could have got a legit star Center to groom & former Top 10 pick in C. MITTELSTADT - [who I put in WBS to get confidence back]
~ RHD- JOKIHARJU is a Pens type of D-man & would be a perfect 3rd pair guy for now.
~ ULLMARK is only 26 yrs old & just entering his prime as a Goalie & keeps getting better each yr.

UFA SIGNING :
- After a down year in NSH - Jason Zucker gets former teammate ~ L/RW- Mikael GRANLUND #64 to take a 1-yr deal for cheaper than market value -
1] to Re-boost his value, 2] to have 87 or 71 as a Center, & 3] to also Win a Cup!!
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

ROSTER BREAKDOWN :

FORWARDS-
LINE #1 ----- 59 ~ 87 ~ 67 ----- Best Line in NHL - Rakell & Jake both hit 35-40 Goals - Sid hits 120 Points in 70 gms / Wins Hart & FINALLY gets the much deserved Selke Trophy
LINE #2 ----- 16 ~ 71 ~ 64 ----- 2nd Best Line in NHL - Granlund bounces back w/ 25G / 60P , Zucker 25G / 60P, Geno hits 100 Points in 70 gms.
LINE #3 ----- 19 ~ 27 ~ 17 ----- [27-Lowry] - 19 & 17 are both Top 6 Wingers & both being great 2-way players Along w/ Lowry's size, F/O ability, physical play, & Hockey smarts- makes this a perfect 3rd line.
LINE #4 ----- 13 ~ 53 ~ 72 ----- 72 is NOT a 4th liner but he wouldn't care + would bring a real scoring ability w/ Turbo & Teddy B - 2 of the best 4th liners.
* [2] H/S ----- 18 / 9 ----- Simon & E-Rod would both be in starting 12 on any other team in NHL & both can play all 3 positions
*AHL [1st Call-Ups] ~ C- C. Mittelstadt / C/RW- S. Lafferty / RW- A. Angello / LW- D. O'Conner / C/LW- J. Bellerive / C/RW- V. Lettiere
**C/LW- F. Hallander - Europe? / LW- S. Poulin - Jrs? [Both will be on team in 21'-22']
Alternate Lines :
59 - 87 - 64 ----- Granlund could be the best winger w/ 87
16 - 71 - 67 ----- Rakell mite also be better w/ 71
17 - 19 - 72 ----- More Offensive 3rd line
53 - 27 - 13 ----- This could be the best shut-down line ever

DEFENSE-
PAIR #1 ----- 8 ~ 58 ------ 1 of Best Top Pairings in NHL
PAIR #2 ----- 29 ~ 6 ------ [29McCabe] Marino continues to get better & Gonch turns McCabe into a legit Top 4 Dman
PAIR #3 ----- 28 ~ 10 ---- Having a 3rd Pair as good as Pettersson & Jokiharju helps take some of the big min from 8 & 58
* [1] H/S ----- 2 - Ruhwedel is 1 of the best #7's in NHL
*AHL [1st Call-Ups] ----- LHD- P.O.J. / RHD- Z. Trotman / LHD- A. Borgman

GOALIES-
1A ----- Jarry35 -------- Jarry is ready to be the #1
1B ----- Ullmark32 ---- Ullmark would be a Perfect 1B & thrive w/ a better team in front of him.
3A ----- Stolarz31 ----- The perfect #3
3B ----- Comrie1 ------ Love the kid
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

LOOKING AHEAD & FORWARD TO : The 21'-22' Pittsburgh Penguins
* Hopefully Cap goes Up Finally to the $85m range
~ Horny72 goes in Expansion Draft to Seattle
* TEAM CAP @ $66.3m with 16 Players = About = $18.7m of Team Cap space. (w/ Mittelstadt & POJ on team)
RFA's -
RHD- Marino - Est. - $5m Per
RHD- Jokiharju - Est. - $2m Per (Bridge)
C- Blueger - Est. - $1.75m Per
UFA's -
L/W- M. Granlund - Find a way to keep?
C- A. Lowry - Would be hard to replace his gm
LHD- J. McCabe - Is POJ ready?
C/W- E. Rodrigues - How does he progress?
RHD- C. Ruhwedel - does he take another cheap contract?
~ Young Prospects : C- C. Mittelstadt, LHD- P.O.J., LW- S. Poulin, & C/LW- P. Hallander All will make team [Poulin & Hallander could maybe start in AHL?]
LW- O'Conner, LHD- Almari, C- Bellerive, & LW- Bjorkqvist ~ All could also be pushing for time.

      ~ Jokiharju would be a perfect young / cheap #3 RHD behind 58 & 6.
      ~ I'm a big Ullmark fan & if he was behind a better team he would get noticed - Perfect 1B behind Jarry.

      Yeah that’s brutal for Buffalo. Joki is the most valueable followed by Murray and Ullmark is real close to him. Mitts still has a lot of potential, not someone I’d trade for ZAR.

      My head is swimming after speed reading that...LOL
      Murray to BUF is a good fit I think.

      Buffalo does not do that trade. Apparently Jokiharju is worth William Nylander, and way better than Alex.

      He is. Not at the cost of Joki, Ullmark, and Mitts. ZAR is a decent bottom sixer but he doesn’t move the needle. Ullmark going the other way doesn’t make sense for us either. The thought would be a 1A/1B with him and Murray. Him gone and Murray splits with Hutton again... gross

      I disagree, but thanks tho
      - I think Murr's would do great there until UPL is ready & they could be a great tandem until UPL is ready to take over.
      - But I am a big Ullmark fan, I think he could be great w/ a good team in front of him

      It would be tough to trade him to BUF but thought deal was kind of fair??
      - Just not sure of Mitt's value now?? But I always really liked the kid & would take a chance on him?

      I think Murray to Buf makes sense, just feel your value is way over valued. Yes he had a down year and could rebound. But why would Buf pay a premium on a buy low candidate? Like a .899 for how many games he’s played isn’t something Buf should be overpaying for. Ullmark had better numbers on a worse team, so don’t understand why they’d overpay for Murray. Idk who said Joki is worth Nylander (not me) but he has a ton of value as a 20 year old with over 100 games and hasn’t looked outta place. Doesn’t make sense for the Sabres to add a prospect like Mitts when Ullmark =< Murray and Joki >>> ZAR.

      Reason = GMJB knows how good he is when he is on & healthy .... Not to many 25yr old 2-time Stanley Cup winning Goalies out there.
      Even last season, Murr's is sole reason we even got into playoffs ... He started the last 25 gms of year & is always great when u need him to be.
