I'd definitely make both of those trades but you overpaid Puljujarvi at 2M, he hasn't proven anything in the NHL. Not sure if I would make that Edmundson signing if we already had Zadorov at 4.3 x 4. Would love Raymond and Askarov in the draft but neither are NHL ready in year 1.

I think Puj would sign for 1.2 x 2. I just upped it because I could. As for Raymond and Askarov, Raymond could MAYBE make a push for a roster spot. At least the 9 games to start the season seeing how he steps up given all the youth NJ seems to inserting into their system. Will be interesting to see

Askorov is 2-3 years away yet, Fat chance he makes any club for at least the next 2 years. Raymond is probably at least another year away. Unless NJ gets to #3 i don't see then nabbing Raymond i see Detroit more or less taking him with their 4th pick possibly.

Considering how awful our roster is especially at RW yes he would push for a spot but he's not ready. He's a smaller guy and needs to work on his upper body strength over the next year. He got pushed around a little too easy in the SHL, that's a main reason why Holtz was able to make an easier transition to pro than he did and why he was more productive. He needs at least another year in Sweden

Zadorov won't make more than $3.75m.

I also think Avs say no to that trade as they have plenty of middle 6/bottom 6 forwards already. The ideal return for Zadorov is futures (eg. 2nd + 3rd), or to package Zadorov to get a top 6 forward. A 1-for-1 trade for Miles Wood doesn't accomplish anything, particularly as Colorado love analytics and Wood has a career 46.5 CF%.

You guys are probably getting Byfield or Lafreniere, Raymond could definitely fall to 6

I'd be totally shocked if we get number 1 or 2, I expect us to get screwed again and pick 4. Which means probably one of Rossi/Raymond/Drysdale or Askarov i'd imagine.

Lol yeah that would be tough after the season you just had but you'd still be getting a hell of a player at 4, it worked out pretty well for Colorado in 2017

Yup i'd be happy with anyone of those 4 i mentioned, And i can see Yzerman taking one of them. Both Hronek and Seider have played the left side so Drysdale isn't out of the question. Rossi would make a nice future 2C Detroit needs an elite franchise type Goalie that Yaroslov Askarov should be or Raymond on the wing between Veleno and Zadina. So yeah we should still get a great player no matter where we pick. We'll know in about 18 days or so.

If NJ can sneak up to the #3 spot, I’d be ecstatic. However, my gut tells me they’ll fall. Hopefully I’m wrong

I hope you're wrong as well. if they drop 1 spot I won't lose sleep over it, I'll gladly take Perfetti or Holtz. that said a top 3 selection would be unreal, Stutzle would be perfect for this team.

Although I love this idea, we can only move up 4 spots if we "win" the lottery. I don't see Laf being anything but #1 OA, so its Byfield at 2 if that is what the Jersey scouts are thinking (they should be). Worst case with our own pick we are 7 OA. The AZ pick is my concern now!

Lol what? Not sure what that has to do with anything, I was stating Raymond could fall to the Devils at 6 and Detroit is likely getting Lafreniere or Byfield. Also you're ill informed, they're not doing the old lottery format where only one team moves up a max of 4 spots... NJ can move up to 1. And if they're picking 2nd they should 100% be taking Stutzle

My bad I was on an old nhl.com site.
You are correct.
I don't see us winning 1OA but that's just me.
Stutz has been challenging QB at two as of late

Devils shouldn't sign Edmundson with Smith making it into the NHL
