Eichel

Description
Yes I do understand it won't happen, but he obviously wants out (not to mention Boterill would be an idiot to trade for anything but a massive overpay). I wonder if Pens could figure it out value-wise.
Giving up Marino hurts, but I don't think it could work without him. Bjorkqvist is better than his stats were this year, Legare has a great shot. Murray had a bad year, he's still young too.

It's hard to figure out Eichel's true value, Im just hoping half you say no, and the other half say yes, because thats when I know it's close.

Also, Riikola is good enough to be a #6, and I'm hoping POJ makes the team after his really solid year in the A.

Also, our powerplay would be much better w Eichel due to him being RH, we have someone to play that wall, now that Kessel is gone and Sid Geno Jake are all LH

You do not want any of Eichel, Crosby or Malkin at wing.

I don’t think Pittsburgh has enough to offer Eichel. He’s not getting traded this offseason, but the only teams that have enough to make a real offer is:
    NYR
    PHI
    COL
    TOR

I know it’s not related with Eichel but who would sign Vatanen to a 4 year 5 million a year contract

Obviously Buffalo says no but I don't think it's that far off. The asking price is multiple picks (2 firsts), multiple prospects (Marino will be their 2nd best dman behind Dahlin, Bjork is a B prospect and so is Legare), and a solid roster player Matt Murray the 26 year old with 2 cups who literally had 1 bad year. Plus Hornqvist who they'll probably trade for another pick.

It's 7 players for 1, much more than what they got for O'reilly

Yeah, but Hörnqvist isn’t waiving to play in Buffalo.

    No lol.

Here is a legitimate offer I've seen that seems plausible:

    Eichel + Okposo

    for

    Morgan Frost
    Kevin Hayes
    Joel Farabee
    Nick Aube-Kubel
    2020 1st
    2021 2nd

Now lets compare that to your offer:

Let's be nice and say that Marino = Farabee. Farabee is worth more but I'm being nice.

We can say the 1sts cancel out.

We can say 2nd + Aube-Kuble + taking on Okposo contract = Murray.

Next comes Hornqvist, who we'll kindly say has neutral value. Does he? No. He by all accounts he is on a bad contract and is a cap dump but we're being nice.

So that leaves PIT with 2 B prospects and a 1st, while Philly has a 2nd, Kevin Hayes, and Morgan Frost.

    Frost= the 1st.

    2 B prospects = 3rd.
    Hayes = 2 1sts.

    Not exactly fair is it?

future franchise C in Jack Hughes, multiple 1st round picks this year (good ones), cap space to take on Okposo's contract if BUF was interested... Philly doesn't have any of those things.

Hayes has a NMC that he won't waive for Buffalo, so try again.

Not too mention that this trade would make Philly worse imo, Eichel is good but he isn't worth Hayes 1st 2nd + 2 former 1st's, when Philly isn't desperate for a first line centre.

EicHeL iSnT a WinGEr, I think he would be the happiest man in the world to play w Crosby, compared to the scrubs he's been playing w in Buff

This was a trade Philly fans wanted, which I now consider the golden standard for Eichel trades.
