I'm actually very into the idea of Eichel for Barzal, just like Turgeon for LaFontaine. It would have to be something where the Islanders aren't clearly buying Eichel, but the Sabres get noticeably but slightly more value. That trade was:

Pat LaFontaine, Randy Wood, and Randy Hillier for Pierre Turgeon, Benoit Hogue, Uwe Krupp, and DaveLlwain

A modern-day equivalent would be something like:

Jack Eichel (LaFontaine), Marcus Johansson (Wood), and Colin Miller (Hillier) for Mat Barzal (Turgeon), Josh Bailey (Hogue), Scott Mayfield (Krupp), and Michael Dal Colle (McLlwain)

That doesn't work cap-wise for NYI, but that's essentially a do-over of the Turgeon for LaFontaine trade.
