I'm assuming by 'July 1st' you mean the start of free agency, in which case the 2020 draft will have already happened.

Yeah, I think that would be a good thing for Edmonton as well.

Nah, Kings will hang on to their best defenseman from last season, thanks. Even if the draft picks were going in the other direction, they'd still say no.

I don't think Ottawa will trade the 20th overall for two guys worth a second and a third.

We'll trade Matt Roy for Kailer Yamamoto, no one less, and you can't trade Tyler Benson in any event (CapFriendly Rule #2: You can't trade a homeboy away from his hometown team).

Leaf's Accept I think.
They have forward depth and can afford to move guys.
Toronto Needs a Right D and a gritty 3rd-4th liner.
1st round pick is huge to keep the prospect pool deep.
Robertson could make the team, Mikechev, barabonov, Kerfoot and re sign Spezza and not lose any of there top 4 guys.
I think Dermott could be moved as well for a 3rd line Center.

Sens aren't doing that deal. If they trade that 1st it's for a guy that is already an impactful young NHL player.

Holland will get more for JP. He’s most likely more nhl ready than anyone they get with early picks. Has nhl experience was good enough then just wasn’t good enough to overcoming Lucic. Nobody was.

I still think the Leafs decline. Khaira was the 13th forward for a thin Bottom 6 in Edmonton.
I don't think giving 2 middle 6 players capable of scoring 80-90 points (between the pair) + a 2nd is worth Larsson and a late 1st (although the first being late is kind of a joke, since the Oilers have a tough schedule for the playoffs)

I've penciled this out, and the only way it works comfortably for Toronto is if Edmonton retains Khaira's salary out of Larsson's cap hit for the one year remaining on Larsson's contract.

The problem with the Toronto trade is that it makes no sense unless you have completed the Ottawa trade first: you're not getting the Columbus third from Los Angeles, and there's a good chance you won't have your own 2020 third as a result of the Lucic/Neal deal, so if you trade away your own first, you won't have a pick in the 2020 draft until the fifth round. And I'm having difficulty seeing how you can sweeten the offer to Ottawa to get them to trade you the 20th overall pick. But if you substitute Yamamoto for Puljujarvi, and then get a second for Puljujarvi . . .

no they decline
Larsson okay but i wouldnt say hes at the top of our want list
dont need Kharia can sign matt martin or go sign clifford.
1st is nice but is probs in the 20's so not worth. Basically a high 2nd is just as good and we will probs have 1.

in general Kapenan is one of those wings everyone wants, good offensively and defensively and is on a good contract with his age is good. If edmonton offered bear for kap now thats a deal

I’m torn between yes and no.... he scored 22 goals last year but only 11 this year... but he’s 29 and his contract isn’t crazy.

OTT declines very easily.

Youre not getting cap dump and 1st for Puljujarvi.

Add Lavoie and youve got a deal.
